Mine got delayed as well. I wish I didn't pick 7 day shipping with it either, probably will be a long time before I see it.

"12/13/2011(updated)" Still in production too so I doubt I'll see it then. Bummer, it was expected to come my final day of my finals :/

They have been upgrading shipping to overnight for lots of folks on the Slickdeals forum just for calling/chatting and asking. Worked for me.

Now, given the constant date slippage, I have zero confidence in these dates, but on the off chance that the monitor does ever ship, at least you can get it quickly...

Those reports don't make sense. I have my three up and running and see NO flickering no matter the settings.

10e who is hardforum monitor guru has confirmed it, so between youtube videos and first hand accounts I believe it's true. How susceptible you are to this flickering varies from person to person. However, if I am to replace both of my 24" Soyos, I want my replacements to be as perfect as possible as I will be keeping them for a very long time. So I'll just wait until HP ZR2440W reviews show up and then decide.

EDIT: looks like there are some videos on youtube showing PWM flicker on ZR2440W, so I may be completely out of luck...

I got mine and I thought I could just turn the monitor and have it display the portrait view automatically but that's not the case. I recall the older dell models had this function, is this not the case for the 2412M?

Just got mine in the mail today (originally estimated delivery 12/7, delayed to 12/13). I've only had time to briefly check for bright pixels, but everything looked good thus far.

I'm excited for my much-needed upgrade from 1680x1050 🙂

Same here. Beautiful monitor. Makes my 6 year old 20" look tiny and dull.

Been using my panel a few days, colors are great and its very sharp. No dead/bright pixels.

Mostly using 10e's original settings with more brightness, looks good to me.

Has anyone tried running it in 1280x800 resolution? My eyes get tired sometime, and I want to run it at lower resolution. It's 16x10, so it should fill the whole monitor, but what I am seeing is that it stretches the horizontal across, but leaves vertical unstretched, so it's squished with black bars on top and bottom. Has anyone else tried this and know a workaround? I tried all the various settings.
Looks like 1680x1050 works though.

Buy.com has the Dell U2412M for $337.99 + $8.98 S&H. Newegg sells them for $359.99 +$8.99 so that's a good deal AFAIK.

http://www.buy.com/sr/searchresults....me&display=col

Buy.com has a longer grace period than Newegg, 45 days instead of 30 to return it.

Wish I could have had the money earlier and got in on the $300 deal, but this isn't too bad. I picked one up this morning.

Anyone notice the blue tint on one side or something? Seems like most people are pretty happy with this monitor for the price.

Could we get the title of this thread edited to say [DEAD]? I keep seeing this thread and getting excited that the deal is on again, and then I realize it's not..

only the OP can edit the title of the thread...unless a moderator indulges your request by chance. just PM the OP about it...

Just wanted to post that I visited my parents this past weekend and finally got to see this monitor which I ordered for Dad's new system I built as indicated earlier. I'm really impressed... it's VERY nice. And I'm using these settings from 10e although first impressions out of the box without adjustment are quite decent (but definitely too bright).

argh, this is on sale for $265, no CA tax or ewaste fee.

what to do... i'm still using a 2001fp from way back when.

Son of a.......

Thats cheaper than the 23" model I just ordered. Oh well, cant win them all I guess.

I'm replacing a Dell 2407WFP

EDIT.....oh how lovely, looked at the 2312HM again and now its on sale for 199 vs the 229 I just paid.

Nice, been waiting for this to come back since that NEC deal proved to be less hot than it seemed.

Edit:

Getting the following when I try to check out: "Coupon Error - We're sorry, the coupon code you have entered is not valid in the segment in which you are currently shopping."

PEBKAC I'm sure...what am I doing wrong?

hmm...dunno. i had no problem/error applying the coupon code once the U2412M was in my shopping cart. however it required several steps to actually proceed to check-out, and i'm not buying right now, so i didn't take it that far...perhaps someone else can reproduce the error as they try to check out...

Is the coupon only for Home or only for Business? Sometimes Dell pulls that crap, so if you added it from Home, try instead doing so from Small Business....

HTH,
Richard
