This card is great and will interface with any 802.11b access point.

For the person who asked: a mini-PCI card is much more convenient for a laptop. I carry my latop to and from work every day, and remebering to take the PCMCIA card out and remembering where I last put it is becoming a pain (call me lazy ;). A mini-PCI card fits permanently inside your laptop ;-)

Well it looks like i can't get the free shipping, and i'm being charged tax also. It sounded like an awesome deal, but i don't really want to pay tax or shipping.

I ordered and installed this very card for a friend's powerbook g3 (wall street) Macintosh notebook computer, and it works great with the stock orinoco drivers for OS 9 that I downloaded from the web.

What I mean to say is, this card is indeed and orinoco gold, and will work on a Mac.

I'd like to buy this for a friend, but a little hesitant on the warranty bit. If the card does die on me, would I send it back to Dell, Agere/Lucent, or the laptop manufacturer?

i just got my card today! w00h00! the installation was very successful, however, i was wondering if anyone has changed the firmware into a real orinoco gold or changed the driver. the current dell truemobile 1150 driver i have is 7.62.something but the latest driver for orinoco gold is 7.4 and the firmware is 8.10. i was wondering if i should change to these and if anyone can give me any suggestions. thanks ^_^x

I too got my card today and was wondering if I should also upgrade the same software settings
as the post before requested.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Interesting question with those drivers!
I should get my card tomorrow and i would like to know that too!

Did anyone do this? Flash the Card with the Orinoco Firmware and use the Orinoco Drivers?

PS: ...in WinXP?
