When you search for it and find it, price shows up on list as $34.99 AR and when you click to view the product, you get the same page as the (broken) link provided in the OP. Something's up.

I haven't gotten mine yet from the earlier rebate, but sheesh at $29 for 4 GB I don't think I can pass them up. Haven't even used the previous set yet. Maybe I'll do 8GB and switch to Vista 64?

Yeah, hate it when that happens. I had just got the Patriot 4GB kit for $45AR, and now they're $40AR.

seems like this is how frys does it with ram though.

they seem to put up a ridiculously cheap ram deal with a rebate, then lower the price through the rebate period until it sells out. i would imagine this will be gone before the last day on the rebate from my experience with frys ram deals.

Have any of you that bought this try to overclock it? Wondering if the CAS latencies can be brought down any. 6 is pretty high

CAS 6 at 1.5v is part of the JEDEC spec. Notice how all of the "enthusiast" DDR3 is spec'd at 1.8v+? They are just "factory overclocked."

Great deal on 1.8V RAM. Those complaining about CAS latency need to do a reality check at the door over this RAM. This is not RAM for overclockers or enthusiasts seeking CAS 3 or 4 latencies. This is a good deal for those who have systems that can not run >1.8V RAM, ie. most of your Dell, HP, etc. boxes, or even just those needing 4GB of RAM. The non-gamers will likely never notice the high CAS latency.

What chips are you guys getting with the latest batches from Frys.com? (Hynix or Micron). My local store's stock is all Micron chips.

I have several sets of this RAM and find it extremely poor. Will hardly run at rated speed much less overclock. Not what it used to be. YMMV
