alcohol - calorie estimation

I was researching my ventures later tonight since I am on a diet and found this.

Pretty nice gov site. There are other calculators there like BAC estimators.

Anyway, any advice on how to maximize alcohol consumption while minimizing cals? Grain alcohol diluted with water?

Meh, it will be beer. Just that my beers are typically high alcohol content (9%+). Might be drinking some bud light tonight to play it safe though.

Any advice on this thoughts?

And then there is this that says that alcohol doesn't lead to wait gain for various reasons:

Found a piece of info that I have always wanted to know:
Alcohol-free beer contains 0 grams of alcohol while nonalcoholic beer can contain up to 0.5 percent alcohol or 1 gram. Pure alcohol contains 7 calories per gram.

I typically get a shot of bourbon with a splash of soda (tonic/seltzer). This way, I'm probably consuming a max of 2-3 of these per a night so I'm not really putting away too many calories.

PS- Get back to work!!!!!!!!!!! 😛

Awesome thoughts. These are the kinds of responses I was worried that I would not get and instead having everyone to say that I should not drink if I want to loose weight.

Thanks!

Just be aware that tonic has a ton of calories (assuming you dont go with the diet kind ofc). Not true with soda water.

That's why I ask for seltzer (0 cal, 0 sodium) but a lot of smaller bars only will have tonic or something. Generally though, I end up being able to get the soda water.

I started just drinking bourbon or whatever neat, no extra calories from sugar. Couple rounds and you can catch a decent buzz for 400 to 800 cals. Makes it easier to fit into the budget
