At some level I don't really care.

So far I've yet to see any creditable evidence of any wrong doing on his behalf, despite all the usual partisan howling.

But I find him to be very unimpressive. He seems genuinely nice (even his Dem opponents say that), not arrogant like many in DC, but unimpressive.

I think of him as GWB's "science project"; a product of Hispanic affirmative action that GWB seems so fond of.

I tend to agree with Newt G. that this is all a self-inflicted mess. Otherwise, the whole thing seems a distraction from issues that are actually important.

What five dopes actually want this loon to keep his post? Christ.

Who knows---maybe the same dope voted four other times!

No criminal activity, just either:

(a) incompetence, he has no idea of what his people are doing and no memory of his own actions

-or-

(b) lying and an attempted cover-up of a probably legal, but embarassing, firing of attorneys who were not partisan enough for Karl Rove and other party insiders.

It's hard to say which applies to him, perhaps he is really just deeply incompetent and out of touch with the people he's supposed to be managing, but either of the two possibilities is reason for him to leave.

Heh. Gonzales lied to Congress. If that's not wrong, then what is?

First he claimed that the USA's were fired for performance reasons, and now he just can't recall why, after weeks of preparation for these questions...

Just as Gonzales' bad memory seems to be a willful undertaking, so is the blindness of those who would defend him...
