He's just laying a track record for himself when he supports Roy Moore. He knows Franken's cooked and his words will have no sway there. This is all about Roy Moore.

Good. End the circus and move on. Let the governor appoint a safe pick and go for the re-election next August.

I dont care for Franken's politics, nor the progressive movement in general, but I do respect him, and agree with many things he said in his speech. Classy.

Yeah, that one seems pretty dang credible.

In general, I wish this articles would be written with more specifics and less euphemisms. It is a lot more effective to say he place his hand on your butt and squeezed it, than saying it was on your waist. Squeezing someone at their waist could mean a single single armed hug.

It is like all the stories of "inappropriate comments." That could be anything from very mild "you look pretty today" to very severe. It is also harder for people to interject their own biases when a claim is specific.

Love him or hate him resigning was the right thing to do. Glad to see he didn't have to be dragged out kicking and screaming. I don't think we've heard the last of Al Franken however. He seemed pretty popular in Minnesota. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him after a period of contrition repair his reputation jump back in the pool.

For whatever reasons Franken has resigned, that he has done so is also a throwing down of the gauntlet on the part of the Dems against the Repubs, challenging the Repubs to live up to their oft stated claim of being "The Party of Family Values" by having them denounce their endorsement/legitimacy and support of Roy Moore or for that matter Trump the Molester-in-Chief himself.

Franken's, Conyer's et al resignations now gives the Dems the moral high ground that the Repubs have claimed and weaponized against the Dems for the longest time.

Given the Repub's blessing, taste and tolerance for having sexual predators as being representative of the desires of their constituency, this claim for being the champions of "Family Values" (should Roy Moore win and Trump's admittance of being a sexual predator not ever being investigated by his party) should never ever again pass the lips of any and all conservatives who previously laid claim to that title. I say "any and all conservatives" from the point of view that even if some of them feel that Trump and Moore are sexual deviants and do not represent their beliefs and values, for the fact that they stood by and allowed their party to endorse and elect these sex offenders to high office makes them complicit in this heinous act.

How low can the party go? For the fact that Trump is their leader and chief representative of the values the party, it's fair to assume that we'll see that for ourselves. From their behavior that I've witnessed to date, there is no bottom to speak of.

We are after all, living in the shadow of Trump, who day by day, seeks to foment instability both here at home and wherever else he sees that he can personally profit from. He lives by the mantra that in instability and turmoil, there is opportunity.

That he now holds a position whereby he can be both the instigator and beneficiary of said instability makes for a very dangerous time in our lives.

Wasn't he of such high moral character that he was boinking someone else while his wife was dying of cancer?

Shhhhh. the dems on here still think they're superior and their sh*t don't stink. In fact, they've evolved to where their leaders sh*t ice cream to feed their masses.

A Democrat gropes women, is removed.
A Republican tries to rape young teenage girls, one a young as 14. The President and party endorse him.
If both sides stink, who washes it off, and who rolls around in it?

Except none of that is going to happen. Voters are not even going to remember the Franken blood sacrifice in a few months.

It doesn't give dems squat! The voters simply don't care (or more precisely, there aren't a large enough number of voters who do care). The voters have continuously rewarded Republicans despite their shitty behavior and dems have never been rewarded for being good.

Democrats are simply political idiots and they consistently get duped by Republicans and their lack of morals and values.

Congrats, you just lost yet another fighter in the fight for gender equality, racial equality, and economic equality.

A Democrat allegedly gropes women

A Republican allegedly has sexual relations with underage women

Lots of people flip out on social media seeking the high ground

Another group of Democrats, only once it is politically advantageous to do so, decide to sacrifice one of their own

The Republican probably still wins anyway

A few weeks later no one cares because we've moved on to the next thing

For a Bernie boffer, you sure seem to side with the Repubs.
