Here is my prediction. Moore, like Trump, will go on to win because insanity and hypocrisy is working very well for Republicans right now.

For Democrats, who decided to kick the feminist hornets nest in a way that was not strategic at all, you now need to hold your own accountable for stupid misdeamors or risk disenfrasing a voting block you will need at midterms.

kicked "the feminist hornets nest"...

hmm, hey maybe don't you think the legitimate messaging from "feminists" about the "dominating, sexually exploitative patriarchy" over the last [forever] really is legit? You think, maybe?

Since you are bound and determined to keep this political and "both sides," which political party do you think is actually positioned (let's go with a simple historical perspective, here) to address this long-standing reality in a useful manner? Which party?

Yes, she LET him.
Your wildly inaccurate summation is a deliberate misinterpretation of what happened . . . you know . . . a lie.

From the article:

The notion that there was anything inappropriate in this photo shoot is truly absurd,” the co-founder of the Huffington Post said in a statement to Page Six...

[...]

Al and I did a comedic sketch for Bill Maher’s ‘Politically Incorrect’ called ‘Strange Bedfellows,’ in which the whole point, as the name makes clear, was that we were doing political commentary from bed. This shoot was looking back at the sketch, and we were obviously hamming it up for comedic effect," Huffington wrote.

“I’ve been great friends with Al and his wife Franni for over 20 years and there has never been anything remotely inappropriate in our interactions,” she continued.

She didn't passively "let him" do anything. She actively and knowingly participated in a comedic pose, as an equal partner.

The question is, why do you feel the need to insinuate otherwise? Your dishonesty is transparently obvious. It's pathetic. Please stop.

All you need to know about the sincerity of this "scandal."

Al Franken has TWO accusations of groping adult women, and he apologized and opened an investigation into himself about the charges, but Republicans shout that HE has to go immediately.

Roy Moore has MULTIPLE accusers and a lengthy history of cruising malls trying to fingerbang little girls, he's called all of his accusers liars, and he's got the full support of the White House.

The GOP President has BRAGGED about doing things far worse than what Franken has even been accused of (and if we're getting into accusations, Trump's alleged sex crimes blow Franken, and even Moore, out of the water)...and yet, I don't see Republicans demanding his resignation, or even an investigation.

It's almost as if their complaints against Franken aren't genuine!

I'm as shocked as anyone.

Something certainly seems fishy about this situation, however, if its valid then the right things should happen just they they should for anyone else. The GOP will work tirelessly to prevent any of their gang from going down for it.

I strongly suspect the GOP wants as little investigation into this as possible.

Just because both of Franken's accusers are Trump supporters does not mean that their complaints should not be fully investigated.
"Fully Investigated" means keep saying "going to investigate" over and over until people find other stuff to talk about.
Not sure investigating Franken is going to be all that interesting.
It's not like he was chasing high schoolers or slinging dick to some dude in his office.

I didn't say they shouldn't be investigated, I just don't believe that congressional Republicans actually care about his behavior outside of whatever electoral advantage it might give them. The easiest evidence of this will be that I bet if Roy Moore wins in Alabama the Republicans in the Senate will do nothing.

Sorry, I'm trying to convince my wife to sign up to AT in order to make a certain accusation about the Frankens accusers.
Please stand by as I post this comment again....totally not saying anything.

While we wait for that

Of course Republicans don't give a crap about the behavior.
Women need to man up and stop being so fricken PC about things.

Neither, because it is not in the interest of either party to be useful when it is far more productive to exploit the emotions of useful idiots

Apparently this is the ethical standard we are going with. Shocking I know considering Trump is our leader.

Trump just gave support to Moore. Amongst the reasoning was "we don't need a liberal, we need someone "strong" on the border, crime, etc etc." Pedophilia ranks much lower than those concerns.

F it then. We need Franken bc he's strong on the middle class, corruption, fiscal responsibility, taxes and blue collar workers. If pedophiles and pussy grabbers get passes, then Franken is a boy scout.

He should resign after Trump, Moore and Thomas do. Else let the voters sort it out. Thanks Trump for your moral leadership.

To liberals, absolutely. Did you note voter participation, that election wouldn't have been legal in England.

I see evidence that there might be people who were not happy about Hillary but who really don't like Trump either.

Less Russian influence (what do you think bought us Brexit, Farage has already been linked to Trump and Putin) and more sense might make a world of difference.

Not getting what you mean by the point about legality.

Farage hasn't just been linked to Trump, he's long been openly proud of his connections to him. He's Trump's mini-me. The odd thing being that he seems smarter than Trump (certainly far more articulate), yet has been electorally far less-successful.

The Farage-Putin friendliness puzzles me slightly, but I guess it's clear how their interests are aligned - it's just not a situation my younger self would ever have predicted. And the addition of Assange to that unholy alliance makes it seem weirder still.

Grabbed her by the buttocks?

http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/20/politics/al-franken-inappropriate-touch-2010/index.html

A woman says Sen. Al Franken inappropriately touched her in 2010, telling CNN that he grabbed her buttocks while taking a photo at the Minnesota State Fair.

It is the first allegation of improper touching by Franken, who is a Democrat, while he was in office. It comes just days after Leeann Tweeden, a local radio news anchor in California, said that Franken forcibly kissed and groped her in 2006, when Franken was a comedian.

Franken has since issued an apology to Tweeden and faces a potential investigation by the Senate Ethics Committee.

Lindsay Menz, a 33-year-old woman who now lives in Frisco, Texas, reached out to CNN on Thursday hours after Tweeden made her story public. Menz said she wanted to share an "uncomfortable" interaction that left her feeling "gross."

According to Menz, she attended the Minnesota State Fair with her husband and father in the summer of 2010, almost two years after Franken was elected to the Senate. Her father's small business was sponsoring a local radio booth, and she spent the day meeting various elected officials, political candidates and celebrities and taking photos with them as they stopped by the booth.

When Franken walked in, Menz and her husband, who also spoke with CNN, said they recognized him right away. Menz said she had a brief and cordial exchange with the senator.

Star Tribune: Franken won't resign, staffer says

Then, as her husband held up her phone and got ready to snap a photo of the two of them, Franken "pulled me in really close, like awkward close, and as my husband took the picture, he put his hand full-fledged on my rear," Menz said. "It was wrapped tightly around my butt cheek."

"It wasn't around my waist. It wasn't around my hip or side. It was definitely on my butt," she said, recalling that the brazen act lasted three or four seconds. "I was like, oh my God, what's happening."

That makes three so far. When will he resign?

this was already covered two days ago in the original Franken thread...

https://forums.anandtech.com/thread...ping-radio-host.2527510/page-19#post-39179419

we don't need a thread for every single accuser or there would already be over a dozen Roy Moore threads.

of course everyone know the only reason you created this thread is because you are a moralless right wing trump hack.

I disagree. This wont get swept under the rug. I want answers. Franken needs to resign. I will accept nothing less.

same goes for trump right?

This is not about moral equivalency. If Franken is going to go around grabbing women by the buttocks and sticking his tongue down their throats, he should step down and let another democratic take his place so as to not disgrace the party any further.

I hope Chuck Schumer talks to him about doing just that.

What should trump do? You seen to know what a Democrat should do, so what should Moore and Trump do?

Those are interesting questions best answered by those in the know.

But I do know this - the Democrats need to nip this in the bud and ask Franken to leave before the next victim comes forward. These are hard accusations that Franken has admitted are true. The Democrats need to clean house asap.
