I have no idea who any of the people you just mentioned are, and since this thing gets most of it's wisdom from other people looking for the same people, it looks like I'm not alone.

I assume you ARE talkin' to me.

Travis Bickle is the main character in Taxi Driver, whether or not you have seen it, it is a very famous and GREAT film starring Robert DiNero.

Cousin Dale is an obscure character, seen only in a two flashbacks, in the David Lynch film, Wild at Heart.

Chicken George was famously played by Ben Vereen in the TV miniseries Roots. Neither of which are obscure in any way.

Eric Stoner is, The Cincinnati Kid.

YOU do not seem to get out much.

yeah, considering that "Stewy's pudding in episode 4" or "that guy that clicks a lot..." are "non-obscure" entries....these should all be sho-ins for Akinator.

or is it simply that the internet is flooded with immature, uncultured twats?

:hmm:

lol, working on "The Dude"

question t4: "is your character an adult?" I paused, thinking..."probably/partially?" but I answered yes.

He asked long hair, then asked, "does your character play at bowling?" for question 10! :awe:

he went off on some other tangents to clear out some suspects, but went for Jeff Lebowski after 20 (Asked if he was Afghan, or wears a cape...?)

...or maybe I get out quite enough to the point I don't have time to learn these fictional characters. I never said you didn't get out much either, no need to emphasize the 'YOU' like you're trying to turn the tables on me.

As for the characters.. I've seen Taxi Driver and love DiNero but the character name just never stuck in my head, only saw the movie once or twice. I also like a bunch of David Lynch movies but never saw Wild at Heart, but as you admitted that guy was obscure anyway. And never saw Roots or the Cincinnati Kid. So there ya go.

Lol...I was thinking of the King from The Left Hand of Darkness and it asked if my character was a woman...I didn't know what to say!

Does your character work with children? (Yes)
Is your character linked with sex? 😱

He ended up getting it right though, Mr. Rogers.

Damn, it got Toru Okada on question 20. Impressive.

I should post here that Akinator has failed to guess:

PhineasJWhoopee
CasioTech

...though they are now in the database. :sneaky:

his questions suggest that some rather specific forum trolls from wherever are included.

He did settle on Rutherford B Hayes while attempting to guess Phineas (this is probably b/c 80% of my answers were "don't know, probably no, and no"...and no one knows anything about Rutherford B Hayes)...

and Anonymous for CasioTech.
😀

would you have shat brix if uhohs popped up?

would you have shat brix if uhohs popped up?

Yes, because that means someone is foolish enough to let him work with children.

I managed to Akinator with Joshua Bell, though it guessed him after his second series of questions.

Thinking of "Mr. Furious" from 'Mystery Men'.

After 20 questions guessed Jeff Jeffries from 'Rear Window'.
After 30 questions guessed Woody from 'Toy Story'.
After 40 Questions guessed Dan Dreiberg from 'Watchmen'.
Akinator then gave up.

Thinking of "Chingachgook" from 'Last of the Mohicans'.

After 20 Questions guessed Artur from 'Inception'.
After 30 questions guessed correctly.

Trying for Sharron Angle, came up with Christine O'Donnell on first guess (must have been the 'Is your person often made fun of' question). Got it on guess 2.

It took 31 questions to get to Elwin Ransom from C.S. Lewis' Space Trilogy. I wasn't surprised I stumped it in 20 questions but I am surprised it got it at all.

Got Honor Harrington within the first twenty questions.

30 questions to find Corrie Ten Boom (arrested for smuggling Jews in WWII)

Weirdest moment of this game.
"Is your character a real person?" Yes.
"Is your character famous?" No.
"Have you ever fallen in love with your character?" Yes.
"Does your character have a monstrous side?" WTF?

Beat it! Was unable to guess author Jim Kjelgaard after trying Hemingway, Twain and Jack London. London was a pretty close guess though, their books are similar.

Also beat it with new age jazz pianist Spencer Brewer.

Tom Hagen from godfather, guess correctly. 20 questions

Impressive. I thought I threw it off track with "Not Italian" as it headed towards mafia movies, and I thought I might have messed up because I said he was made famous from cinema (one could argue the book initially made him famous).

actually, that question should zero him in more than the others.

My character is not Sergio Ramos!

He finally did guess Carles Puyol, though.

On an unrelated note, I wish they'd cast him in a LotR/Hobbit movie.
