Hm...no. I don't need to speak a foreign language to learn about other cultures. If I travel to a foreign country, then I'd better learn the local language(s).

Parts of the video are interesting even though I don't have a clue what's being said...

Wonderful aircraft...I've been on 2 flights with A380, New York-Frankfurt and Frankfurt-New York...
Don't like Frankfurt airport, but Lufthansa airlines - very good...maybe Finnair is better, I like Finnair...

Now, A380 on take-off and landing is very soft, doesn't shake like Boeing 747...
On one flight, my seat was next to wing/engines and it was so quiet...

Take-off from JFK:

I have not personally flown the A380 but I have heard several reports from different people that its size makes boarding and bag retrieval a real pain in the ass.

In 2012, I flew IAD-FRA six times on the new 747-8I and it provided the nicest TATL experience I've ever had. That bird is quiet and the increased cabin humidity does make big difference. The 747-8 does fly slightly faster than the A380, so we're talking about 7 hours from IAD to FRA. Lufthansa's newest Y seats are also very nice. As for FRA itself, the new Z gates are a huge improvement. T2C and D are also okay. It's T1A/B that is the disaster. Don't know how they can shut either of them down to make renovations though as I would say they handle like 70% of the Lufthansa traffic there.

I've done an A380 from CDG to JFK. It was a nice flight but JFK was a nightmare, as usual.

I personally do not like Frankfurt at all. I'll take CDG, I know the airport pretty well though.

It looks like the thing can fly itself as long as you twiddle the right knobs and push the right buttons.

AMS is the way to go, much better than CDG or FRA!

Ah... no way in hell , haha. AMS is a cluster of insane security. I fly AMS-DTW and that is no fun since the shoe bomber.

That or I secretly despise the ugly stickers on my passport. :sneaky:

Agreed, but I think you might be forgetting that this is an English speaking forum. Even subtitles would have been better.

When watching a documentary type video, I prefer to understand what is going on.

btw, I was on that aircraft - named "New York", also, another flight I took on A380, was named "Frankfurt am Main"

Airplane spotters prolly do know that there special aircrafts - with names or specially painted, etc..just like items that collectors(stamp, coin and the rest) go after.
I've taken pic or an aircraft, it was specially painted A320 - Jet Blue - 10th year anniversary aircraft:

Also, I've taken short video of Jet Blue 100th A320 Airbus on their fleet:

The airbus is a nightmare. If there is a mishap the freaking plane takes over and you can't take control. I'll take a 737 any day!

Although I do like Boeing better.. im pretty sure Airbus has fixed those issues since the first A320 crash.
