Airborn Express

Is this shipping service crappy, or is it just me? I get the standard shipping for my Dell, I ordered it on Friday, and it FINALLY gets into Allentown, PA(the local center), and then to Freehold(ever closer to me) TODAY. And now it's saying it could come to me as late as the 17th. I don't know about you, but I don't want to wait 11 days for my computer.

If its free shipping, I dont complain.

Naturally, I've never had to pay for shipping. I happen to have a really good relationship with UPS so if I needed the stuff fast, I'd call the center the night before and show up at 8:30 to pick my stuff up.

And I have had problems with airborne. I paid them a fortune for delivery before noon and the driver was chronically coming in at 1:30.

Yeah, Dell needs to start shipping with FedEx or UPS. I've never had a problem with either of them.

Any other opinions?

Well i got a delivery from them earlier today for some stuff i ordered from Dell and they left the box on my doorstep and did not even knock. I was at home waiting and checked the tracking info....it said delivered..I opened my door and there it was. Definatly not cool that they didnt knock and just left it.

Yesterday my package was tagged "out for delivery" but 6pm came and went, and the out of delivery tag disappeared. Today it's "out for delivery again" but it's 1:30pm and it hasn't gotten here yet

Airborne Express is crap. They were used to deliver some checks to my condo, and the bastards left the checks on the front front door. They did not knock or leave me a message (as you have to call people to enter the building), they just left it at the front door!! As a result the checks were stolen, they have caused me a big headache. :disgust:

If it makes you feel any better, my wife's father works for Airborne. Basically many of their hubs (like the Wilmington, OH location) are way understaffed. They are out in the middle of nowhere, and can't get enough people to work there.

Maybe this should go in the unemployed thread instead 🙂

What happened with you Jfur?

I've had nothing but good experience with Airborne Express... I seem to be the exception... Some of the places i've ordered from give the option of Airborne Ground and they seem to get to me really fast and really cheap. Usually takes only 2 days for about $10.

Those of you who have used Airborne Express, how many places must it go to before it comes to my place? It went to the Regional Facility, and then a state one. And that's as fair as it has went. Will it go to a local one next, and how long after it gets to the state facility, will it get sent to the local one? Thanks.

I've had very good success with them before, also. I live in a decent sized city that is within an hour or so of an airborne hub, so packages are very quick with them. I've ordered stuff from thinkgeek and it comes quickly. Airborne does work with the post office, so you might it something shipped via airborne and they give it to the post office to deliver. Sometimes that takes a while.

airborn express has got to be the worst shipping company ever. a couple years ago, they lost my airline tickets to taiwan because they delivered it to the wrong house. they insisted that they delivered to the right address, but when they finally came to meet me in front of my house, the delivery guy said "hmm.. i don't think i've ever been in this area before.":|
