I love AC. I keep the house at 68 during the summer. It feels so good to come to a nice cool home. As a bonus I know I'm canceling out about 8 eco-kooks so this also makes me smile.

It's my energy, I pay for it and I intend to use as much as I damn well please.

AC is nice if it gets over 90, but I like some humidity in my air. AC stiffens my sinuses.

Wish we had central. We have a window unit in our bedroom but too much of it at night gives me a cold. The dryness destroys my ability to breathe normally.

try living in an area that's 90+ with 100% humidity all summer.

Unfortunately there are asshats in norcal that still feel the need to use the air conditioner just because they don't want to adapt to slightly warmer summers.... Right now the outside temps are great, but even when it's 100F outside I still refuse to use the airconditioning.

it'd be nice if you actually did but the externalities are not at all accounted for in the price of the energy.

I don't usually turn mine on until the temp is over 90, and even then I don't like to keep the AC set below 80. Heat isn't that bad if you take the time to get used to it instead of turning on the AC in April and running it until November.

Roommate sets it at 68 when the ambient temperature is 73... he sometimes just leaves it on all day with his window wide open and when he's out. Good thing I'm moving out and utilities are covered in the rent.

A/C is my best friend. I keep it cranked between 71-73 in our house during the summer.

Mine has to be on even during the Canadian winter. Heating is controlled centrally in our building and many immigrants from southern climes complain about the cold, so the thermostat is set to hellish hot. Opening my windows a few inches is not enough unless it's -30C outside.

I'm in NorCal and I LOVE my A/C...I'm not however, quite as fond of the high electrical bill that goes along with it...(last month was over $300...nearly 2 weeks of 100+ temps)

I love it, but it sucks that we can hardly live without it now :(

If it wasn't for AC, most of the sun belt would still be the uninhabited wilderness it used to be. The blue-hairs in Florida or Arizona would be dead in ten minutes.

Mine broke in early July, and I won't have the money to fix it til next year.

Thank god for this cool summer.
