Allright, so someone messaged me the other day with sup <my first name>. The person was not on my buddy list, but I accepted their message. When I asked the other person who he is, he just said: check this out, and then pasted a bunch of "aaa". I then saw he signed off...
About 5 minutes later, someone else messages me, with a different user name, but this time it didn't even ask me if I want to receive his message. The person does the "aaa" thing again, my AIM locks up and gives a General Protection Fault error, so I have to close it and restart it. I am assuming/pretty confident that was a DoS attack... The problem is that when I re-opened AIM, half of my buddy list was gone! I used to have about 60 people on the list, and then I had about 25 after the DoS attack.
Has this happened to anybody else? I should've done a "netstat" on the guy and reported him to his ISP. Then again, he's probably someone I know since he knew my first name.
