So i have my AIM name Digitalsnare and it is linked to my other one, bernier87, neither of which have EVER had to do with an AOL screen name, and all of a sudden today, AIM will not let me sign on as Digitalsnare. Like, it would be fine if I could only sign on and save my buddy list and that, beacuse i have a bunch of ppl I added that I wont be able to talk to again, cause they are only on my Digitalsnare buddy list. Is there some way I can contact AOL or something about this?
 
You're screwed. This has been becoming a fairly commonplace thing, and nobody's quite sure why. My guess is that AOL is running out of money and resources to spend on AIM and are trying to cut users who put a high load on the servers.

and get a reply in 2 yeras? 🙂 But seriously, I read this page http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,720052,00.asp and the guy said he did the age verification, and it was reactivated, but when I go to login to the age verification it says my account is invaild......... wtf, I dont even know what to do
 
well I emailed them, but I have a feeling I wont get my account back. Does anyone know how to get just my buddy list back?
 
Yeah, thats great, but i NEED my buddy list. I have some business to conduct here and no one knows my screenname (new one)
 
I thought I got AIM banned once, turned out I had just been signed on somewhere else for a looong time and after so long, it got pissed and wouldn't let me double-sign on anymore. Make sure you're not signed on somewhere else.
 
humm funny it just happened to my other name, odd, im gonna check and see if it happens with trillian also on that name
 
the ONLY thing I can think of is that I signed onto AIM on my cell phone last night, but only for a few min, and i signed off
 
yes happens with Trillian also on the blcoked name. strange, does not really bother me, this name worked 2 days ago tho

tried that change your age thing that didnt work said my account didnt work

it only bothers me cause I have like 200 contacts I talk to regulraly, and I dont remember half of them, so its really hard to build a new buddy list
