Africans like rough sex... because of this, diseases are easily transferred.

http://www.salon.com/health/se...rld/1999/12/10/drysex/

Wow, is there no end to the Stone Age in Africa?

Sub-Saharan women attain this dryness in various ways. Herbs from the mugugudhu tree are wrapped in a nylon stocking and inserted into the vagina for 10-15 minutes in a procedure that one woman described as "very painful." Mutendo wegudo (dry soil where a baboon has urinated) is a traditional Zimbabwean recipe. A crushed stone called "wankie" is also utilized, reports the Oct. 23, 1998, World African Network, as are potions called chimhandara ("like a virgin" in Shona) and zvanamina ("taste me only" in Ndebele). Shredded newspapers, cotton, salt and detergents are also used.

The transmission through heterosexual sex has always been tenuous at best, and overblown.

I've personally cared for hundreds of HIV + patients and not one of them has contracted the disease through heterosexual behavior.

I had a patient tell me spontaneously that he had Hepatitis C and that he contracted it through the use of dirty needles, i shook the guys hand and told him it was refreshing to have a patient be honest about how he contracted Hep C, everyone claims they caught the virus through heterosexual contact, another fake transmission vector.

PSA, if you have Hep C, there's a 99.99% chance you got it from IV drug abuse or anal sex..., we know you're lying.

Wow...

The ignornace and bias in this post is amazing.

Here's a hint: If a disease can be spread through anal sex, it can be spread through vaginal sex. With HIV and HCV the ONLY difference is the frequency in which the tissues are damaged and a direct route to the blood stream is opened. Vaginal sex trasmissions in healthy, uninjured people are rare, but add injury or another STD like Herpes that exposes the virus to a direct route to the blood stream and vaginal sex trasmission rates skyrocket.

I've worked in HIV+ outreaches for nearly 20 years, and have known MANY people who contracted the disease through heterosexual sex. People with no history of IV drug use or homosexal contact.

Of course, you'll just claim they're lying...

Yep... I will.

I know dozens of couples (mostly nurses) who've contracted Hep C though needle stick accidents, and none of their spouses have contracted Hep C.

And of course the heterosexual transmission vector exists, thankfully in the US very few of us engage in the types of heterosexual practices that have made HIV infection so rampant n Africa.

What % of HV infections n the US do you suspect are heterosexual?

And how the hell is reading and believing the percentage of transmission vectors biased?

Is unprotected anal sex high risk behavior or not?

I refuse the bias label, you're equating the truth with bias and that's BS.

I have no bias and use a openly gay GI doctor I've known for years and recommend my friends to him, can you say the same?

Bull fucking shit, there are thousands of people who have Hep C through tainted blood transfusions. Before 1992 blood wasn't tested for Hep C.

If you have any kind of license it should be revoked. Everyone in Africa is either gay or a drug user... sure.

I live in the US, treat patients in the US, and was referring to US stats.

I've also talked with a freaking dozen ID fellows, can you say the same?

Several of my best friends have Hep C...

Hell the infection control nurse where I work is married to a guy who has Hep C.

Sigh....
