Possibly, but he isn't there just now is he, it's not like they managd to publish the information at noon on september 11th, 2001... when the only planes in the sky were being flown by bin Ladens!

(Note: I'm not convinced that the rest of the bin Laen clan has much to do with Osama's political actions, but letting them fly around was stupid and unnecessary from an optics point of view, if not from a real national security point of view).

Ed: It's also stupid just from a money perspective to leak the location, since now you folk will just have to build another one, and not tell anyone about it. But on the other hand if journalist X knows about it, someone else probably does, too, and the government is better off KNOWING that the cat is out of the bag than naively believing their secret to be safe.

I'm wondering the same thing. I mean really, what is worse: revealing the location of an elected official or someone who worked her entire life to live in anonymity and depends on being anonymous?

I wish you libs would get your lies and hatred consistent. Which is it, Cheney is sitting around all the time playing games, or Cheney is the puppeteer for Bush? You guys really need to have a meeting and decide which lies you are going to stick with so you can at least tell the same ones.
 
It's not treason by Time. Maybe whoever leaked that info to time, but not Time.
Also, I wouldn't shed a tear for Cheney, but now the taxpayers may have to build another rathole for him to hide, which is going to cost us. I remember similar thing happened to a bunker under a resort for congress.

Oh, did I strike a nerve? What's the lie anyway? I'm making an observation on Cheney from the lack of public appearances he has made during most of his term. He is a publically appointed figure so one would expect to see them make an appearance often and at least speak to the people who he is supposed to be 'serving'. Only recently has he been making a flurry of public appearances.

NEWSFLASH - I think most people in Washington knew that the person in question was working for hte CIA. I wish I had the link to a biography type website that already revealed this person was working for the CIA.

And there is really no harm in revelaing the location of a secret government hideout. It just means more taxpayer money will have to go to create a new hideout.
 
Since Matt Drudge leaked the location by publishing a rumour of the story. Whouldn't he be the one guilty of aiding and abetting the enemy, not Time magazine!

NEWSFLASH - That's the kind of disinformation you get when you get your "news" from Limbaugh and Hannity. Her identity was NOT known until Ambassador Wilson (her husband) first spoke up about the Nigeria uranium lie. At that point, Bush & Co. set out to smear Wilson, discovered what his wife did, and started leaking it to Washington insiders. Once Wilson went public with his letter to the NYTimes, the Bushies took their treason public by contacting Novak.
