What's the "old-school" cut off date?

Don't know, I figured it was the Oct. 1999 deal. I was reading back then, but didn't register until a few months later.

There hasn't been a good video card debate since Hardware left, signaling the end of the V5 vs GF2 wars. Sure, there has been the Radeon 8500 vs GF3, and the 9800 vs GFFX, but nothing like the old ones...and OT....heh....who remembers D Squared?

The best hardware debate ever was between the creative live and the aureal cards. That thing lasted for days and was one of the first threads to reach over 100 posts, if not the first.

I remember lurking back a long time ago. I remember when ElFenix had a weird animation in his sig about a crab killing smilieys. That was strange.

The old days (before the earliest date that this version of the BBS shows) were no better than today. Just fewer people so the better posts stood out and stayed up top longer.

Michael

ps - I have no idea where I was the first month the BBS restarted. I think it was when I firast moved to CA and was working 36 hour days getting purchase accounting right
