It was a land before Nefs or Trolls and everyone was a nOOb. A time before wOOt's YACT's and YAGT's. A place that watched it's C O W B E L L S come and go ;). Way back when an Athlon 700 owned jOO, and the Voodoo5 was the talk of GH. Back when you were either Junior, Member, Senior, and if you really deserved it you could be Elite.
A time when if you weren't playing HalfLife or StarCraft then you weren't gaming! And unless you knew how to code html, you had to wait for someone who did to come and "Linkify" that URL in your post.

This is my shout out to all of AT's old-timer's here. Let's hear how you remember AnandTech's "age of innocence".

Screw it this place isn't worth getting sentimental over. If you were an old timer here then you know where the old timers hangout and that's meant to be discreet!

I remember the 300a Celeron days, and quite a bit before that. I was around in the pre UBB days. When you can talk about timewarps happening in the forums, then I consider you a old timer. If not, then you are still in your pre-retirement days. :)

Dawn has been eating off of the Senior Citizens forum menu for longer than some of the self claimed old timers have been registered.

Yeah I remember that I thought you were an idiot. Compared to the dweebs that post here today you are a breath of fresh air... a rose amongst the thorns!!

BTW, is your hair still looking good?

Perfect example of a water walker.

After the introduction of the "new" forums software, most of the old timers were reluctant to change, and stayed at the old forums (UBB powered forums) until the bitter end. That is why the OT's join dates are a few months later. Red Dawn on the other hand, is a newbie from the AOL forums. ;) *Ducks*

I remember back in the day when I became giddy from the fact that I was able to dial-up to a local bulletin board service and connect with people via this service. Everything was DOS and text based... I'd use the little Telnet session windows and after dialing up, some funky ascii art would quickly flash by... my handle back in the days was "sexorcist". I don't recall where I got that name from.. I think it was either a heavy metal or rock band who's album cover was called sexorcist. People on the BBS would call me Sex Orc... anyways, those were the good old days of 2400 baud modems and hour long downloads...

Sorry there Old Timer! Guess I don't pop in here often enough to know AT's secret hiding places.. I do remember the heated debates between you and Monel though! (Thinks back and chuckles) I believe "Red A$$ Troll" was one of your pet names for Monel. I must have laughed for half an hour the first time I read that! You were always good for a laugh, and I can see you're just as bitter as ever... Please don't change!

Cheers!

I thought Red's account was deleted because it (might have been) hacked and the admins re-created his account. Hence his 2001 join date, trust me he's an old timer.
