i was pondering to preorder the D90 from either one of those merchants and leverage with the Cashback. I guess I will stay with what I have for now. (both :( and :) at the same time)

Did they drop the cash back percentage at Circuit City too?

I'll probably skip the whole 60-day cash back waiting period and get an instant 12% discount at Best Buy using my free Rewards Zone membership coupons.

maybe they're finally realizing that paying people to use their search doesn't really work

Actually it works really well. These high cash back rates are just introductory ones to get people to visit their site, but communities like FatWallet have grown incredibly fat (no pun intended) by offering people cash back through referral links.

If I'm making an online purchase of any kind, I always try to use a cash back site. I've probably about $3k in cash back checks over the last two years.

Of course MS can't keep these astronomic cash back rates going forever; but it's just like the XBOX. They bled some money in the beginning, and now the XBOX 360 has more units sold than the Sony PS3. And MS has PLENTY of money to spend to make a dent in Google's market share.

what i'm saying, is MS is offering cash back to get people to use the ms live search engine.
but instead, people are continuing to use google....until its time to make their purchase.
people aren't really making the switch. MS is just giving away money.

i'm quite familiar with the cash back concept...especially the one from Fatwallet.
3k is a lot. all from fatwallet?
