Just FYI Nik, the .02/.04 tables teach you absolutely nothing. People call play like total clods and it's very difficult to win because people play every single hand they get so you inevitably end up losing to some dumbass that makes his inside straight on the river with 8/4 offsuit.

You start getting semi-decent play where you learn at about the .50/1 tables.

Incredibly wrong. There is absolutely nothing wrong starting to learn at very small stakes tables. You will find that yes there are a lot of people that don't care about the money at those minuscule stakes, but you can still get a good poker education at those limits as long as you don't follow the herd (or should I say school?). It's worth your while if you don't have a lot of money to start with but want to learn. Deposit $20 and bam, you're good for awhile.

That being said, I started at the $.5/$1 limit. I play $2/4 6max now. Man is that a fun game.
Exactly, if you think it is hard winning when 8 people see a flop just try it when there is only 3 people. Saying you can't beat a level because people call with anything is so ridiculously wrong. This coming from someone who has played all of those levels (.5/1 through 20/40).

I've never played online Poker. I thought the TV ads said it doesn't cost money to play?

I play mostly free games at Pokerstars.com. I think I've won over 5 or 6 million chips starting with 1000. I sold a few million chips and have been playing with real money with no actual investment on my part. I stick to the cheap tables or low cost tourneys. It's fun and definitely addictive. Fast way to lose a lot of money though.
