I don't understand how this can happen. Don't play such high tables! Start at the bottom and work my way up. I've played a couple thousand hands on $12 over at Absolute Poker, playing the .02/.04 tables, learning the ropes.

I've had bad days that I lost a fair amount ($1/2 limit), it's part of the game. Variance is a bitch. However if you're losing money you don't even have that's a problem.

Quit playing poker, borrow money (if you can) to cover your outstanding checks, & stay the hell away from online gambling.

all in with a 2-7 offsuit again eh?

I'm in "study mode" now and will be starting online poker in January.

If you double up three times

500--> 1000 --->2000 --->4000 - 2500 - 500principal = +1000

It's not too hard.
If you lose the 500, so what, it's chump change compare to the 2500.

Hey man do not listen to these jokesters telling you to try doubling up your 500, that's a bad idea for many reasons:

1. You are probably desperate and on tilt = bad decisions.
2. Players at those stakes are too good to give you an easy double up, chances are you will be taken to the cleaners.
3. You are probably a losing player, at least at high stakes, so again chances are you will be taken to the cleaners.
4. You have exhibited a lack of self control, what if you do turn 500 into 2000? Do you have the discipline to stop?
5. Losing 2000 is still better than losing 2500.

That $15 is just the beginning. You are forgetting about all the hours wasted playing.

Don't forget that with Check Systems, your bank account history is scrutinized in a similar way to your credit. So if you bounce these charges, they are recorded and any bank you try to open an account with will have access to your history, even if you've never banked with them before.

Let it get bad enough, and you won't even be able to get a new account for awhile.

Better borrow some cash if you need to and keep that account in good standing.

i suppose thats a reason why i never really got involved in online gambling. lack of visual interaction is too big of a deal breaker for me. but then again, i do realize that it can be incredibly convenient and not everyone has the luxury of having casinos/card rooms nearby.

I've known so many people who play online poker and regret it... it's never really appealed to me. I'll rather play CIV4 to kill my time... or an MMOG. Although i love playing poker with friends in RL... we only do like change, but when the pot is $10, even that gives a good rush.
