in most states and most insurance companies even the most minor moving violation ='s a 40% increase in premiums for 3 years.

driving too fast to stop in the rain? DOH. you could have killed someone in crossing traffic, pay your ticket, pay your insurance, and drive according to the conditions, which obviously means slow down when you can see, it's raining, and so on.

Why the heck did you go down the shore on such a crappy weekend anyway?

Your best bet is to call the number on the ticket and ask what you can do to avoid having it affect your insurance. Seriously.

The road was narrow, so a lot was still in the road, 5 feet or not. I also was at the shore because we were lost and my friend said that if I follow the signs to Pt. Pleasant (where the ticket was issued) and get there, he would know the way straight home.
