I hope your science fair project takes into account the fact that many of us geezers can hear the mosquito tones :)

All three annoy the fvck out of me. 23, so I guess some stores won't be getting my business?

I heard all 3 just fine (but I'm 21). The third one made my head hurt. I would certainly not like to be around that for more than a few seconds.

3 sounds
1 most pepole can hear
1 the ring tone that mostly teens can hear
1 the tone used to repel the teen loiterers

Wow I can hear the first two but not the teenage repel

Note that I am 15.

I was gettiin worried... "most people under the age of 20 can hear this noise" ---- silience ---- and im 19. I heard it when i turned my speakers up a tad louder though. 4-5 bars on logitech z5500's.

Your speakers just might not be able to replicate the frequency. I'm using some cheap "Flat Slim Speaker" panel speakers, so they have no problem hitting those chincy high notes.

I heard them all at 24, I would have thought my ears would be blown out from the many years of constant loud music.

Very strange ... I only heard the first two using my Sennheiser HD 490 headphones & the first two were really annoying, but heard all three using my Logitech 2:1 speakers... I would have expected the exact opposite! (btw I'm 42)

the mosquito sound is 15khz fyi. big difference from that and 18khz. many speakers can't even reproduce 18khz.

My dad can hear the 15khz mosquito sound, and he's 43. Likewise for my mom, same age. So apparently, it doesn't work as well as advertised.

I'm almost 40 and that high pitch drives me nuts. That sound always tips me off if the kids left a tv on in their bedrooms.

This is a waveform taken from the terminals of an electronic pest (bird) repelling system used to keep them off towers while in port.
