crap was just my word for all the other games mentioned rather then listing them

and what makes warcraft 3 better then the Age series to me is the pace of the game, i feel like im always doing something meaningful and in the action when im playing WC3 when i played AOE and AOK i felt it was very sluggish and far away

Starcraft just wasnt my game i think i ruined it for myself tho by being a n00b and playing infinite resource maps very first thing :\

when i say this, i'm talking about my experience with multiplayer online played on zone, i hate that single player or missions stuffs that come with it.

Im guessing the AI is the same in the demo as the full version. In the full version the AI is better than AOK, but its still not that good. Its tough to beat on the hardest setting, not because of intelligent AI, but because of "fast" AI. The computer will get huge bonuses for resource collected, etc.

Maybe those games(WC3, SC, etc) aren't crap per se, but AOE series was definitely the filet mignon of the RTS genre, and those other games are probably like.... steamed greenbeans or something.

wow i cant believe how many dumbasses actually like AOE so much. starcraft is quite simply the best strategy game of all time, period. hell it aint even a contest. the popularity of starcraft ACROSS THE GLOBE speaks for itself. elements of starcraft were even mentioned in korean music videos. im not saying AOE was bad, although it definetely had major flaws, but its not even in the same league as sc. firstly AOE has one race, not 20 or whatever. each race has the exact same units with minor differences - quite pathetic. the beauty of starcraft is the depth of the gameplay. each race is so different yet so amazingly equal in capability. the strategies were seemingly endless, and the competition this spawned was simply astonishing. heck if you logged onto battlenet right now you still might find 50k ppl playing... and its been 4.5yrs since the game was released. maybe for low level players AOE brought more enjoyment - i have no idea. as a high level player i can attest first hand that sc was vastly superior than the AOE series. as for total anhilation - not even close.
