you've got to be kidding me. SC has to be one of the most action filled strategic RTS.. you know a game's got some serious depth when people still come up with new strategies 2-3 years after the game's release (ie heavy metal for terrans)

what makes SC so great is that it is very fast-paced, yet every little move makes significant contribution to the outcome of the game. With each 3 races being distinctively different (i said distinctively.. not different looking or slight variations), the game manages to be balanced in a very intricate way.

And yes, popularity speaks for itself. In Korea, SC is as popular as StarWars here in America. Ask any old man, married mother, or a 8 year old. They know what it is. With hundreds of tournaments and championships held all over Europe, Asia, and America.. With people still analyzing replays to maximize their strategy, build order, micro/macro management..

SC has to be the best RTS of all time in my opinion...

I've tried several "Age of" series, they didn't appeal to me at all.. slow paced... felt unresponsive, sluggish, blech.

Considering I have been playing the retail release for about 2 weeks now (well, it might be closer to 1.5 weeks, dunno for sure) I'm not in a hurry to download

Well I've played a bit and its quite impressive


a very good follow up to the AOE series.

Graphically its VERY nice and smooth. God powers are going to add a neat extra to the game. I'm excited

Played Age of mythology? Graphics OK? AI Bad? I've seen screenshots that look pretty nice. Either you are an incredibly tough critic or you just plain don't like the game. I thought Warcraft3 was pretty substandard, so I guess we all just have our dislikes.

all us AOC fans need to get a game going. i'm considering posting on friday night the proposition of having a game on sat night. i was thinknig 4v4 michi would be fun. always wanted to do it, but on the zone there is always a 56ker that makes it lag majorly. if all people entered then we could make sure we all had good connections (cable/dsl)

Got it. Played it. Disappointed. Seems I'm the bearer of bad news about sequal games lately. AOM is a far cry from AOE2:TC....totally different, totally different upgrading & fighting...I would have been much more happy with just better graphics and a slew of new characters, rather than a change in the whole gameplay. A friend and I had to go for a round of AOE2:TC after playing AOM just to get our fix of good gaming...

I actually like alot of things in it, it's not AOE2:TC like Matt said, but there is much of it I do like, the Norse seem kinda weird to manage, and the Greek's definantly get the unbalanced power.

I like that more then 12 unit's = an Army also (WC3) I'm with the guys that like TA, I want the screen full of mass distruction

Its cool...but just didn't offer enough new stuff for me. The hero and mythical units were cool, but they get owned really fast by upgraded normal stuff. They just get some hit point advantages...straight up attack isn't anything special. I'd have liked to see something that just eats everything

Honestly I found Empire Earth to be more entertaining. The large scale battles were far better in EE.

I think EE did best in their Naval units too, nothing seems to match that game on the sea.

I agree completely, the boats in EE were very well done. I liked the 16-18th century battles a lot too. They seemed very realistically done. I once recreated the battle scene in the movie The Patriot. But the British won

yeah EE had a lot of things that it did right. Its been so long since I've played it I can't remember why I didn't continue to play it.


Maybe it was because multiplayer battles took forever. Basically it was a race to the next age until someone got up the guts to attack
