You probably have a laggy connection to the server. If you can find the server IP, try pinging it and see what the response is like.

It actually happens more when targets are closer together. It's like the hitboxes overlap or something. It even happens when I try to clear target by clicking on the ground

Funcom has messed up quite a lot. Though, tbh, I still like the game. It's all about playing a class you like and people you like.

A lot of this game is PvE. I'm kind of adjusting to it. While I prefer PvP doing quests/grind with friends is a lot easier.

Basically, if you can find a nice guild that is active when you are on you can grind very very quickly. Though it also depends on what class you are. Certain classes like the ranger grind slow as hell. TOS is opposite. This is sologrind though.

The game was fun until about level 55 or so then quests started to dry up and the huge imbalances in the classes started showing up. There just is not much to do in the game right now and every patch seems to change a good amount of the game. There is so much grinding in the game and some classes are MUCH better at grinding then others. It's just stupid how easy it is for a ToS and a necro to clear HUGE (10-20 mobs at a time) camps of mobs in seconds, leveling every 40-50 minutes and some classes are left farming mobs 1-2 at a time and taking 3x+ as long to level even with a partner.

Then once you reach 80 you find that there just isn't much to do in the game. Farm up your level 80 blue set of gear maybe save for an epic or 2. After that there really is no reason to do 6 man content except to farm gold. Then you can keep farming more gold so you can buy crafted armor and stack it with gems fot PvP and/or PvE. Basically after you reach 80 the only things to do are minigame pvp (wow arena with no rewards) or farm mobs over and over for gold. I have cancelled my account for now. I plan to give them 3-4 months and see if they can actually fix the game (many problems and every patch seems to make things worse) and make it fun to play after you reach level 80.

Ranger solo grind is fast up to 60. You must be a bow user.

I actually have a level 80 necromancer that I have had for about a month or two. All of you looking for the trial you will more then likely buy the game. The game is awesome in early levels and the game doesn't really show its true colors until end game. When I first hit 80 on my necro and while playing on it I absolutely loved both the game and my class. I was 80 before the big necro nerf of 6/23 and i never had so much fun as a character in an mmo as I did with the necro. We werent overpowered or anything but there is and still are a lot of fun aspects about this class. Although a lot of it has been taken away or is now useless.

My guild was one of the first guilds to get a battlekeep on my server(doomsayer) and I have been apart of 3 sieges end game. I have 5 peices of my T1 set and I have set foot into T2 and saw some peices drop but was not lucky enough to get the minimal upgrade and actually same looking set that T2 offered. My guild although good and far progressed in the game actually mass quit along with some other guilds. The game can be hard to level and end game really lacks a lot. The siege system was completely broken and with every patch funcom seems to break it more. Lot of guildies held out waiting patch after patch as did I waiting for something although the night before the patch is like Christmas when you get your patch its like a lump of coal. When I look back at it all I realize that there really wasnt much to this game and really all it has is some fun group pvp. Solo pvp is a joke. Some classes can 1 shot and healing classes can outheal a lot of damage and then actually put out the same if not more damage then other classes. I also have all my character slots filled up with level 30+ characters so yes I did spend quite some time with the game.

I could go on about the problems but this is what ill simply say. If you are looking for a mmo to take over a current mmo that you plan on playing for over a year, then this game isnt for you. If you are looking to level up and immerse yourself for a while into a fantasy world until warhammer or another mmo comes out then by all means sign up but for all of you looking for a buddy key to see if this game is worth it. It is early on. The game is fantastic and no doubt you will end up buying the game. The game doesnt dissapoint until you have spent a little more time with it. Also I understand its a mmo in early stages and they all have there fair share of problems but this game has a ways to go before it starts to shine for the long haul.

Yeah, I think this sums it up well. If you're just looking to have some fun and explore a very cool world, AoC is great. Even at the lowest levels, you don't kill rats or snakes. For the first 50 or so level, it's really an excellent game. Players are generally pretty strong against mobs so you can level reasonably quickly and you feel powerful. The world itself has great detail and a lot of interesting and fun quests. Plus, you don't have to kill any rats. Conall's Valley is a great early level zone, more or less The Barrens of AoC but a lot more interesting. Diverse terrain, lots of cool quests, and the Ymir area is really a ton of fun with a lot of frenetic fighting and good times. Did I mention you don't have to kill a single rat?

Things really start breaking down once you leave Field of the Dead at 50ish, though. It's just a straight grind all the way to 80 from there on. There are still a lot of quests, but from that point on they're all basically just kill quests and you'll grab a few repeatable bounty quests to level on for the most part. There are three zones you'll spend the vast majority of your time in from 50 to 80: Eiglophian Mountains --> Atzel's Approach --> Kheshatta.

Once you hit the 50+ grind, it's basically the same quests and grinds repeated ad nauseum all the way to 80. Once you hit Kheshatta at 70ish you're either on the giving or receiving end of a gank squad as you try to grind out levels, assuming you're on a PvP server. The game would be suffocatingly boring on a PvE server post-50. Once you hit 80, you're either on a gank squad or you're grinding resources/gold/items. There's no more exploration or really anything at all interesting to check out.

I won't go much into PvP because I canceled a few weeks ago and there've been several major patches out since then, but a few weeks ago, one-shot kills were pretty common from roughly half the classes in the game. It looks like they tried to do so nerfing to cut that down, but judging by the forums it doesn't seem to have made much difference.

My subscription ends today. I MAY resubscribe if some things are fixed in the future. But likely not. :(

The game sucks, don't bother.... It's like Guild Wars, and despite being better than GW in some ways, it's worse in a lot more.

I know that I am not the first person to ask if anyone has an extra buddy account# they can spare but I have a good reason for looking for one. My reason is that I am unsure the game will even run on my computer. I am trying to play it on my new laptop, but it has a crappy built in video card, but I know it has 384mb built in ram and can do most of what I need for this game. Other than that I am well above the minimum requirements. Before I go all out and purchase the game, however, I want to be sure I can play it on my laptop. So, yeah if anyone out there wants to help a brother out, I already have the client on my laptop fully updated and rearing to go, and all I need is the trial code. You can email me at spaztic@cliffhanger.com at any time if you want to help me out. Thanks a bunch!!!

This game looks awesome, but I've played more than a few MMO's that have been pretty sad, especially on release, if anyone can spare a buddy code I would greatly appreciate it, I don't want to go spending 50 some dollars only to find out I dont like the game. thank you!
