Indias greatest problem isn't the Hindu religion, it's the archaic traditions in some parts, the same holds true for Pakistan, it's not Islam that is the real problem even if it's usually used for justification just as Baasha uses his religion for justification.
India could be thriving but unfortunately has learned nothing from Gandhi, taking care of your own nation instead of viewing everyone as an individual acting on his own is a problem for both India and Pakistan and leads to tribe within, primitive tribes with despicable cultures.
I think that a lot of the same could be said for the UK, too. The British people follow a caste system and their government imposes it on them. Hell, UK economic growth is almost non-existent! People were rioting while the monarch caste is living in luxury.
India's economy is pretty much booming right now and it's already more important than the UK. I bet part of it has to do with the abolishment of the caste system. If the UK followed suit, I bet that it could be a relevant country again. Abandon your disgusting cultural traditions.
