Hey Sid, I think "dual dual" is not a typo. His brand of mobo is Tyan. He has a 2+2=quad.

I tested the Affinity changer on my X2 system last month. results as follows

Project 2653

4200+ 2.2ghz
with OUT affinity
29min 10 sec
With affinity
31min 00 sec

2.81ghz
with OUT affinity
23min 36sec
With affinity
26min 0sec

so yeah i agree with the forum link, affinity on AMD = no go.

I don't remember the times when I tried it before, never ran it more than an hour or two. But with affinity changer running I seemed to have more consistant timing per step, instead of variations.

Now that I am working full time my computer sits Idle more, so I might try a day or two run. I try to do the easy calculation of PPD using FAH mon but the program seems to think the FAH core is hung alot even though it is working fine.

edit: yes, Gleem. I have that issue alot of places when I mention it.

Ok with an average taken from 11 steps each, on a 2653 project I am getting 19.3 minutes non Affinity changer, and with Affinity changer 19.5 mins per step.

I'm planning on taking and averaging it out over a complete project core also once I get that far. This is with Vista x64 Dual-dual core 2ghz optys.
