as far as my history with newegg - I did the math.... I must say I am sorry it wasn't 15k.... it was a little over 11 grand. when I was guesstimating I was estimating about 1500/yr over ~ 10 yrs. been buying from them from october of 01

lol...you are hardly a major customer you realize right?

How many of those deals were loss leaders?

Thanks captain obvious for that insight. I was thinking I was their all time highest $ customer.

from your posts it seems you believe that. You asked
..... am I being unreasonable?
6 pages with the answer yes...more or less, and you think what exactly?
i'm starting to hope that UPS kicks your package to your door cause you deserve it...and i never said that to anyone before.

I never believed I was anywhere near a top $ customer. but I am no where near the bottom either. How many here have a ~10 yrs 11grand + relationship with an online retailer? No matter how you look at it, it is somewhat substantial

Don't worry about UPS kicking my package... at least not on the final step of its journey. My UPS driver is a good friend and ensures any item he has of mine, is treated with the utmost respect. But you are welcome to 'hope' away.

And for the record, I didn't waste an entire weekend on this.... a post here and there and you think my entire weekend has been devoted to this?

bwahahahahaaa

OK...now you're going over the edge.

as I understand it, the label was damaged, and as a result newegg (the shipper) requested the item be rerouted back to them

Common Courtesy tried to explain this to you - I'll try to as well. Suppose that Bob in shipping couldn't read the label. They have a contract to ship it back to Amazon in case they can't read the label. It's on its way back. Jimbo in shipping at the next location it gets to DOES manage to figure out what your address it is, and routes it back to your house.

Don't think it can happen? Stuff like this happens all the time where people unexpectedly get something that they thought got returned or not even shipped in the first place.

Now, because if Newegg was so super-duper nice that they sent out a 2nd one to you, you could pull this: "wow, I only ordered one, but I received 2. It's not my fault UPS screwed up and delivered the one to me that they were supposed to ship back to Newegg. I know my rights, and I don't have to pay for things shipped to me that I didn't order. I'm going to be an asshole and not ship it back." - Do people ever actually do that? Yes, and at least one of them posted about it in these forums (and his thread resulted in another 100 vs. 1 argument, just like this thread.) In that case, it would be a major pain in the ass for Newegg to collect their money/product back from you. Could they legally do it? Yes. But, it would be time consuming and costly for them to do so.

Having your credit card on file for the 2nd case is for one purpose. You reported it as "if UPS doesn't ship it back to Newegg..." That's not quite the whole story. It's so that if UPS ships the first one to you (and not back to Newegg as expected) Newegg can completely avoid any shenanigans.

UPS will not ship me the first one. It is clearly enroute back to them... and newegg does have my card on file already. What I find odd about the entire deal is, the label works well enough for them to keep tracking it, yet not good enough to deliver to me? my info is obviously in the system somewhere tied to that label. regardless, it isn't my responsibility to reroute, route or redirect the package. that is on newegg and ups now.

and rude, my driver's name is John, he has a small tree farm at his house in prescott. He actually sold me a nice autumn blaze maple last season for my front yard. He brings my olde english bulldogs a treat when he delivers to my house/business. he noticed my new Japanese lilac tree needed some care and stopped by my house on the way home from work and took care of for me. so yes, I trust he is ensuring my packages get properly handled and delivered, at least at his end of their journey

Huge nerd? It's only been one of the number one Sci-Fi franchises since the 70's.

I think Grandma Moses would know what a Sith Lord was, although she might go on to talk about how cute Yoda was.

you have not been lied to and yes you are being unreasonable. you are wrong.

people have pointed out why you are wrong.

I have been on both sides of a conflict like this. Newegg has to protect themselves in case you get BOTH items. it it likely? no but with UPS it is possible..

either give them the CC info or cancel the order and go to a different shop. But bottom line is you are wrong.

BTW i don't care for newegg much anymore. they have gone to shit the last 3 years. the costumer service sucks, how they package items sucks and the shipping got expensive.

and only a huge nerd would know what a sith lord is off the top of their head... thanks for playing

dude my ex-wife who is nowhere near a nerd knows what a sith lord is. Hell my FATHER who is near 80 knows what a sith lord is and he hates sci-fi.

really knowing what a sith lord is does not make you a huge nerd. now knowing every class of armor, ships etc of both star wars and star treck does!

...and buying from newegg!
