lol, way to do every single post-dinner suggestion in the thread :) Don't worry about not holding her hand..I didn't hold hands with my gf until our 3rd or 4th date. Granted we didn't move all that fast though...our first kiss didn't come until almost a month after we started dating, and almost a week after we were officially together. Be patient. (I find it very amusing that I'm 18 and I'm trying to give dating advice to a 24 year old :))

Picked her up, went out for dinner. After dinner, we played some mini golf, then went to an ice cream place for dessert. We walked on a city street for a bit, it was a nice area. After that we went and saw a movie. I wanted to hold her hand, but couldnt muster the willpower, guess I wimped out there.
Oh well, it was the very first time going out with a girl for me, I had fun nevertheless. She did agree to go out again, so in my book tonight was a success.

lol, hold her hand? when you get a girlfriend that's one of the last things you'll want to do

This thread is hilarious.

First we've got computer geeks insulting other computer geeks over asking them for advice on a first date, not realizing that they're insulting themselves.

Then we've got a 24 year old receiving advice from a bunch of people who are probably 14-19.

Don't worry about holding her hand. You don't need to rush into touching her. Once a woman feels comfortable being around you, they will make the first move.

Be nice. I respect that he has the gut to admit he's 24 and going on a first date. Nothing wrong with that.

True that, hehe, just responding to comments at this point. I think I'm past the point of getting advice, at least for now. ;)

how did you meet her?

First I met her at a "singled out" social event. Then I met her again at a happy hour after work, thats when I got her number.

tontod - Way to go! Glad your first date was fun! Don't feel bad about the age thing though... I am 22 and haven't gone on a date yet . In fact, I am planning on going to see Rush by myself, anyone want to join me? :p
