What a horrible story. I hope the kid didn't suffer much before passing into a coma. It kind of bums me out that Peterson has a semi-secret kid, but he is a young man and these things happen.

He's a pretty private guy, protects his image and keeps his business off the field, off the field. You have to respect a guy like that. He knows his job and does it.

Any mom would would pick losers to date and endanger their children is horrible. I worked with a woman who was arrested for child abuse and causing partially paralysis on her daughter. That was over a year ago and the court date was supposed to be in Q1 2013 but i have yet to find any more information about it. I wonder if I have to search court records in my state or county.

A third of the blame goes on the mom though, with AP's child support there is no reason for her to keep dead beats around her children. (CBS) The 2-year-old son of Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has died after being beaten by his mother’s boyfriend.

Sioux Falls Police Department confirmed the boy died in a news release sent out Friday afternoon.

Joseph Robert Patterson, 27, has been charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery on an infant after abusing the child Wednesday evening. More charges appear to be coming.

Peterson addressed the media on the situation Friday morning.

“I will be playing Sunday, without a doubt,” Peterson said. “I really appreciate all the support that I’ve been receiving from fans and the Vikings organization. This is a private matter and I would ask you all to please just respect my privacy and not ask at all about the situation at hand.”

The mom sounds like a gold-digger. The guy's family is very well off and their resources probably helped him avoid charges for his previous arrests. He was arrested last year for aggravated assault on the mother of one of his children but didn't get any jail time. He was also charged for beating the 3 year old son of his girlfriend (not his kid).
