GF bought a Droid 2 because it has Flash 10.1 and was told by the guy at Verizon it would play her Facebook games. She already assumed that, pretty good assumption seeing how the fucking games on FB are FLASH.

Welp, long story short half of the ones she likes give her an error message and say they're not for this device. And the other half run so slow they're basically unplayable. I crack up at the Phanfroid people who go "yaaah! Flash on my Phone, suck it iPhone!" And will tell you with a straight face that the Android version of Flash is good, good? lol

Adobe needs a swift wakeup kick to the balls. When a smalltime 5MB program outperforms their own acrobat bloatware that they have likely invested hundreds of millions into, it's time for a change. They need to scrap acrobat and write a new program from scratch, because acrobat literally feels like it is 15 year old code that has been hacked a couple dozen of times to appear modern.

Decent time to buy the stock I suppose. Investors weren't impressed with forecasted earnings but I'd expect it to go back up within the next couple of years.

I don't know why Windows does not handle PDFs natively at this point. Apple has for almost 10 years.

Have we forgot about Microsoft antitrust case already? IE web browser bundled with Windows operating systems, does it ring a bell?

My operating system is way more complicated and useful, and yet only costs a tenth of photoshop. I like photoshop as much as the next guy, but they won't get a dime from me until they have reasonable prices for their software. Even student pricing is ridiculous.

what adobe needs to do is make products like photoshop available at cheaper prices for the average consumer

it should be around 100 bucks for a license, not the 700 it is now.

pricing like that drives up pirating even for people that use it on a normal basis.

What do you expect from a company that requires a 200mb install to read a simple pdf file.....

That's one reason I've never used Adobe Reader. My Foxit Reader install is 23.9 mb.

Flash is dying and nobody needs a $1500/8GB suite of software just for Photoshop and Illustrator, the only two Adobe products worth a damn these days.

You're an idiot. Flash is not dying. Flash is not going anywhere. Adobe needs to tighten their shit up, but they aren't going anywhere any time soon.

You people bitching about the cost of Photoshop do not apparently realize that it's a professional level graphics program. It's not meant for household use. It's the industry standard for a reason and is priced accordingly for its market segment.

Autodesk 3D max or Maya cost $3,000+. Final Cut Studio cost $1000. Quark Xpress cost $650. Creative Suite 5 Design Edition cost $1000. I really fail to see the problem.

Adobe makes a home version that is priced around $99 or less if you find a deal. Sounds about right to me.

Dwell - CS5 Design Edition does NOT cost $1500. Educate yourself please. It cost around $1000.

Trying to play games that were designed for a PC on a smart phone is stupid so you and your GF are stupid. If these developers want to remake their game so it can be ran and controlled by the mobile version of flash, they have to do so. This is like complaining about C# because some idiot made a program that only works with .net 4.0 and not .net 3.5. Moron.

He was already explained this in the Gears and Phones forum that it was written for the PC, not a phone. He's a retarded Apple fanboy and he'll continue spewing the same bullshit regardless. Some people you just have to learn to ignore.

Define "complicated" and "useful"? If your job is to manipulate photos, buying a copy of Windows isn't going to get you far. :p

I'm not trying to defend Adobe. I loathe them. But you're a little off base here.

The complicated, high level manipulation of a photograph is just not comparable to how complex an OS is. They are both complex, but on different levels and (obviously) for different purposes.

In summary, you're satisfied with Paint, and there is nothing wrong with that. But you can't say that Photoshop is worthless just because you don't need it. It's only worthless to you.

Hmm. I agree that Flash is buggy and inefficient, and that Acrobat reader is a travesty.

How is Premiere Pro? Is it still good?

html 5 is even worse. So far every demo I have seen is slow as fuck. Even slower than flash.

Look at this one. It's a simple html 5 demo where a color gradient follows your mouse around. Using a 3.6ghz Phenom II X6 1055 processor, it keeps one core floating somewhere between 50-100% utilization (100% of 1 core would be 17% in task manager).
