Completely incorrect. Amphetamines, which are commonly prescribed for ADHD, have exactly the same effects on non-ADHD people as they do those that are diagnosed with ADHD. Exactly the same. This is why drugs like Adderall are extremely abused on college campuses.
They're abused because you can read and study faster and concentrate better. They also give you the illusion of being smarter than you actually are. For people with attention deficit, the drugs just bring them back to "normal."

Granted, if both groups of people abuse the drugs and take many times the dosage that is normally prescribed, you might get situations where both groups of people respond in a similar way.

I know that for me, there were basically 3 dosage levels. A low dose would just help me focus better and not be fidgeting constantly. A higher dose would make me extremely tired and lethargic. And an even higher dose would produce many of the symptoms you associate with amphetamines.
