My goodness!! This chip is going to be insane!!

As for the power and heat requirements, im taking 600Watt with a grain of salt. Nvidia always beefs up the recommendation for those of us who use Deer and Powmax and stuff. A quality 420 or 450 should have no problem running a G80 based system (Once again im just guessing though).

Depending on what you're running. I think 500w is a safer bet.

But yes, this card is going to be ridiculous. Makes you wonder what ATI has in R600.

I'm kind of relieved, I thought I was going to have to buy a new PSU. Looks like I will be fine with 550 Watts. I don't see myself doing SLI anytime soon anyway.

But yeah, I've got high hopes.

Holy... This is probably the biggest leap I've seen in Video Cards since the original GeForce.

No one can say for sure yet, but i would venture to think that it is MORE than enough. Like i said it is for those of us who have weak 600Watt PSU's with low voltage regulation (Deer, Powmax...). Those of us with Antec, Seasonic, PCP&C, Silverstone, Enermax will probably be just fine with around a 450 Watt (Once again just speculation on my part, i hvae no concrete evidence to back it up)

Ill be building a new machine, so the PSU requirement is just another checkbox item for me.

Not a problem imo.

Care to elaborate on that?

Maby it'll be like FP16 is on the G70, free? (at least I cross my fingers :p)

Anway, I think the power requirerments are A LOT like the power requirerments of the X1900. It may be high, but people tend to use it on lower PSU anyway.

It would be Elder Scrolls V, not "Oblivion 2".

Rumors of the 8800GTX needing 450w to run and 2x8800BTX in SLI needing 800w is just mind numbing. And people wonder why anyone would buy a 1kw psu right now.

I'm relieved I don't need an add on PSU. This sounds like a really great card coming out.

Thats absurd. Currently a 7950GX2 system (Closest i could find real quick for power consumption), not just the card the entire system at peak load only consumes 248 Watt. Are you saying that just the graphics card will consume as much as 2x SLI systems. Somehow i doubt that.

400-450Watt should be absolutely fine based on current numbers.
