ehh, you might not like his singing style or whatever, but you have to admit he's far more talented than the rest of the group last year and certainly this year...

He has a strong voice but can't hit the right tone in his highs, which he proves often since he loves to scream. That's where the complaints of him being shrill and ear-piercing come from, and I totally agree. If he'd learn how to use his voice better, he'd be much easier to listen to. I thought a few of his songs were outstanding last year, but those were ones that he tempered his efforts to break ear drums and nauseate everyone, which is the way he prefers to 'sing'.

Leno? Seriously?

Even with all the "fuck Leno!" people his numbers on monday were out standing, he absolutely crushed Letterman. He's back at #1 and will stay there, even with a shitty lead in show. The reason people said Conan failed.

Welcome back Jay.

Yep. She recently passed up Kelly Clarkson for most records sold even though Kelly got a 3-year head start (Source). Chris Daughtry, the third most successful, has sold fewer than half the albums that Carrie Underwood has.
Isn't Underwood a country singer though? That gives her a huge loyal fan base in addition to the pop music fans.

I definitely preferred him when he held back, like when doing the Smokey Robinson tune last year (to me, the best performance I've ever seen on that show; though I've only seen about 4 seasons, including the current).

it seems he can definitely sing under control, but doesn't prefer it; which is a shame. he can scream under control, too...but often takes it too far.

Probably comes from his background in musical theater.

I thought ring of fire was really good too, particularly after the studio cleaned up the annoying parts.

I want him to do a young Elvis movie and show the world that he's more than just a singer who lucked out on AI. If Joaquin Phoenix can do Johnny Cash then surely Adam Lambert can sing Elvis.

Conan had similar numbers his first few days. Just sayin'.....

So that affects his musical talent how?

I hate American Idol with a passion, but you can't deny this guy was probably the best to ever come out of that show. There is a reason why some of the biggest icons in rock (Slash, Brian May) came on the show to perform with him.

THANK YOU FOR STATING THE TRUTH!!!

AT LEAST ONE PERSON UNDERSTANDS ADAM LAMBERT AND THAT HE WAS THE BEST THING TO EVER COME OUT OF AMERICAN IDOL!

Thank you sir!

Wow he's gay! In other news, your mom has a vagina. Shocking!

Obviously you guys vag out and watch American Idol but I don't. I had no idea who he is and don't care. Not my type of music.

Dude, you are so gay for him it's not even funny! Ok it is funny, I predict from now on, any time he is mentioned in a thread, you're going to magically appear to support him. I don't know how you'll do it, but you will.

Not gay, he is just an amazing singer/performer, and I LOL out loud every time I hear someone bash him, or say that he can't sing, or that he screeches, etc. He truly was the best person on idol to date, and when idol ended I was sad that I wouldn't be getting suprised each week with a totally original performance. Honestly, if the guy had his own show, once a week, for 30 minutes, just doing 2-3 different songs, I'd watch, religiously.

Cock in hand?

It's 6th grade material to call DVad3r gay because he supports a male/gay performer.

Tone-deaf and delusional are fair game tho.

Yep, I think that's what's given her such a big push. You can look at my previous link and see two other country singers who did very well after Idol considering how far they got in the competition and compared to non-country singers.

Kellie Pickler finished 6th in season 5 and yet is #8 overall in most album sales of Idol alumni and has sold more records than three of the show's winners (Jordin Sparks, Taylor Hicks, and Kris Allen). Bucky Covington finished 8th in season 5 and is #18 in most album sales of Idol alumni. I know #18 isn't all that great, but he would've likely sold very few without country-fan support.
