Ignorance is bliss, but this thread isn't about you. 😉 I'm not a particular fan of the singer in your first link, but his voice is clean and tone is sharp in his highs imo.

As someone else mentioned somewhere, Lambert goes falsetto up there and sounds like sh!t. My ears could sign up for MMA wrestling and take less of a beating than the punishment his screaming provides.

Lambert could do what Chris Colfer does easily if he wanted to. Clean is easy - it lacks depth and power.

Lambert does it in a live performance, what Chris did was good but must have gone through multiple runs and cleanups in the studio.

And Lambert is a tenor, he does go into falsetto on occasion, but most of the time, he doesn't.

I hate American Idol with a passion, but you can't deny this guy was probably the best to ever come out of that show. There is a reason why some of the biggest icons in rock (Slash, Brian May) came on the show to perform with him.
