Acura TL or Audi A4?

How much are you looking to spend? Another choice would be the G35x sedans.- It get performance and reliabilty. Some of these used G35x goes for under 20k

audis are probably only good for leasing. and then only a 2 year lease. gotta get out before the problems start. at least they don't catch fire anymore.

Audi has average to below average reliability according to surveys.

Acura tends to have good reliability, but as I posted in another thread, I've had problems with my '05 Acura TL, and I probably would not shop Acura again.

If you want reliability buy a Honda, if you want a car buy the Audi.

reliability = Honda or Acura
better car to drive during winter = Audi
fun car to drive = Audi

some TLs prior and including the year 2004 had some issues with transmissions. Buy a TL 2005 (late build the better)

My understanding is that Acura will cover most late model trans problems unless it was abused. Even if it is officially out of warranty.

actually Acura is a true rebadged Honda where Audi isnt a true rebadged VW. Honda created Acura just for the US market. Acuras are sold as Hondas throughout the rest of the world. VW bought Audi, they didnt create Audi. And Audis, not VWs are sold as Audis through all of the world. Also look under the hood of an Acuram it will say Honda. Look under the hood of an Audi, it wont say VW. Audi has separate (mostly) R&D than VW. True VW and Audi share parts, but mostly VW cars and Audi carshave separate R&D whereas the same honda engineers who design Honda components, design Acura components

as others have noted, the TL-S has 286 HP, not 260. and it will be INFINETELY more reliable than the A4.

i would also rate the TL's interior higher than the Audis. yes, i've been in both.

the legend/TL/CL has never driven like the accord. the suspensions are tighter and better damped, and they are much quieter. the difference is very similar to the Audi/VW comparison, oddly enough. nearly the same cars, dressed different. but the results are noticeably different.

ugh, I never knew the A4's interior was so bland.. They really need to revamp the center console. It looks like they had a vacant square shaped area and just crammed everything in there, seems like an afterthought and doesn't really flow... The door panels need cushion IMO for a car in it's price range.. But hey, it's exterior does look very sexy.

They still use the same parts, you point being? Having 2 R&Ds department don't make much sense to me.....Alot of Audi and VW is still idenitical....

and ohh wow, they rebagde the engine cover too...I guess that makes it NOT as much as a rebadge compare to Honda and Acura?

I think he means the Japanese are efficient and the Germans can't fire their union workers and need to put them to work somewhere

I'm still not sure where this A4 = Unreliable stuff is coming from. My 2003 A4 has almost 80,000 miles on it, and it's only had one significant problem that cost about $300 to fix.
