TOO MUCH FOR A BLAND UNDERPOWERED SEDAN!

I think the car is just fine. It's going to fit a niche market nicely.

And what niche market would that be? Underpowered FWD European Honda Accord with an Acura badge on the grille (which is EXACTLY what it is...no more, no less).

Let's see. What would I rather have?? Audi A4 1.8T Quattro or TSX?? Yeah, that's a tough one 😉

damn straight...I have a friend who is looking at the Mazda6 / TSX / Accord, and I keep telling him to at least look at the A4 1.8T. Though if I had to pick between those 3, it would be the accord b/c the interior on the 6 is hideous.

I think that the TSX is a sexy car - I would drive it if I had the money.
Really? Having seen and sat in this car in person, I can't think of anything about it that I found "sexy".

As others have said, there are too many nice alternatives. The pricing is OK and the car is OK, but there is a high level of competition around this price point.

Yea, but I'd buy it just to be different 🙂

AH, only about 15k people 🙂

TSX=Acura Accord

i would take the Accord coupe over a TSX... 🙂 or like everyone else said... a Mazda 6 for much cheaper. 😀

This car is probably nice to drive (like a larger, quieter version of my old Integra GS-R sedan), but $26.5K is just too much scratch. At $24K it would be appealing, but either way it's a shame its styling is so bland. The 6 is definitely a much handsomer car.

Dude, this has quickly turned into an underpowered Vigor. I wonder if Honda/Acura can bring back the 5-cylinder engine??? Maybe add a turbo in there somewhere...

Also, what colour is the sky in a world where 200 hp is "underpowered"?

200hp is "underpowered" when the whp ends up being 150fwhp. Honda loves to overrate its hp numbers, especially lately. Add on top of that their torqueless natures (relatively speaking), bloated weight, and you got a recipe for "underpowered".

For example, the 200hp+ Eclipse GT-S is "underpowered" because it's a bloated POS and hp ratings are inflated. RSX TypeS? Only ~155hp fwhp. For <26k you can get a WRX which will blow the pants off the TSX in the performance dept.

I can't agree with you guys ... the TSX is a nice car (i saw it personally) apparently it competes pretty well with other cars of its category:

Acura turns the European Accord into an A4 fighter
TSX Road Test

There are a lot of european reviews that say that it's as good if not better than it's german rivals and that's with a smaller engine... (UK TV show "Top Gear", Auto Bild and Spanish magazine Coche Actual, Autopista and Motor 16 (all reputable)).

You cannot judge a car before you drive it ...
get it ... !!
you can judge the looks but you cannot judge the performance ... and one review is certainly not enough to say that this car either sux or is good ...
I hated the looks of the G35, but when I drove it .. man this car rocked ... same for the Accord (sedan and Coupe).

The existance of faster cars for less money does not mean that this car is underpowered. My 120 hp '88 Accord wasn't underpowered. Hell, my 95 hp 914 isn't underpowered.

I think part of the beef that people have is that the downmarket version of this car is available with a 240-horse V6. Granted, this car is slightly smaller and more "athletic", but I would think Acura could have made the V6 available if they wanted to. Although then I guess it would be treading on TL territory.

Apparently the v6 doesnt fit in it that's why they won't put one in ...
and they don't want to start to compete with the TL neither ...

1) The TSX has the same problem as the S2000. Too little torque = high RPM shifting and bogging down if you're not gassin' it all the time
2) The 1.8T Quattro has AWD + torque and power early in the rev band
3) The TSX is overpriced in this segment
4) European tastes/opinions DO NOT equal American tastes

I'll say it again...HONDA, BRING BACK THE INLINE 5!!!

I don't get how it's underpowered - sure, maybe by comparison with it's 6 cyl competition, but 200hp is far from underpowered for an Accord platformed car... I just don't see why the Accord V6 won't see life in the TSX 😕

Says the man who thinks that manual transmissions should be shoved down the American car-buying public's throat even when it's not profitable for a manufacturer to offer one. 😛

(I'm going a bit overboard with the hyperbole, but just to make a point. You're very much in favour of those same European tastes and opinions when they coincide with the tastes and opinions you've developed on your own.)

Why? You mean the engine that was used in the Acura Vigor?

Not the US Accord platform. TSX is based on the European Accord platform. Different car entirely. Smaller. European Accord isn't offered with a V6, and it can't accomodate one. Not enough room in the engine bay.

Well from what I've read I heard it was a "smaller version of the US Accord's frame"... I'm amazed that a V6 can't be fit in there, it's a decent sized car.
