Your signature says EA is the anti-midas - well, Activision is becoming EA.

Honestly it is one of the best things that has been done in gaming in the past fucking decade

30 missions for each race >> 30 missions total for all of them

Blizz is working on a new MMO and as long as its in the blizz game universe/warcraft/SC/Diablo itll make billions and itll be a sub model.

i dont blindly hate EA but honestly they have made at most a handfull of games worth paying for in the past 10 years

Blizzard hasn't made anything worth playing in the past 8 years.

And no, the single race per game in SC2 is NOT a good thing. Think about it.

I would go into more detail, but it is kind of off topic since we are really talking about Activision here and not Blizzard.

Heh well maybe you dont like blizzards games but they are wildly popular for a reason. The reason to put it simply is because they are so good, so obviously many people do think they are worth playing.

God why am I even posting in this thread...

As a huge Blizzard fan (not fanboy, as I can see their shortcomings, as few as they may be) I was disappointed that SC2 was going to be three parts. Then I read more about how it's going to be done, and I'm very excited about how it's going. They're going to be spaced out far enough that they will most likely be able to be considered expansions. It's funny that you say they haven't made anything good in 8 years, because that's what, 2 games (War3 and WoW)? And I actually hope Diablo 3 has a subscription fee. It's a fantastic way for them to weed out spammers/etc.

EA hasn't made a game in the past infinity^* years that I've wanted to play, though they have published one (Burnout 3). Spore sucked, Mirror's Edge sucked, and I haven't played C&C so I can't comment. Luckily, with TF2, Left 4 Dead, etc I can just buy them over Steam so EA doesn't see a fucking dime.

Personally SC is the only Blizzard franchise I enjoy, the others are just alright. I tried WoW, didn't really get it.

Just like Madden, eh?

Because we all now popularity = quality.

There is a lot to go into the argument about SC2's three-part direction, but I don't really think it belongs in this thread.

EA has made a few decent titles (with shiny new IPs) such as Skate, Dead Space, and Mirror's Edge (despite you thinking it sucked, I would say it was at least a decent, albeit flawed, game). This is more than Activision has to offer...

In no way is EA a lovable, or even really likeable, company, but I don't see how Activision is really any better.

So, 3 games, one for each race @ 49.99ea. $150 to complete a storyline that's capable of being done in one game. It's not going to be worth it to me, to pay $150 for the complete SC2 "experience". Especially when everything I've seen about SC2 looks to me, like it's a Starcraft TC for WC3.

Yea, I'll pass on World of Starcraft too. If this is what Blizzard has been reduced to, I'm just going to wash my hands of them completely. I don't agree with what they're doing with SC2 and whatever MMOs they'll be doing in the future. I'll also be passing on Diablo III.

Whats wrong with madden? People like it, it must be for a reason! Therefore it must be good... I personally dont see the appeal of any sports games except those on the wii but if its well liked they must be doing somthing right. Besides apparently the latest madden is more than just a rehash of the last one.

Like it or not, starcraft + diablo + warcraft are the 3 of the best franchises in gaming and they are extremely fun. If you dont even like any of those 3 im assuming you arent a gamer or are extremely old or something. Usually everyone likes at least 1 of them...

I would be very surprised if the SC2 followups were more than $30.

I love Starcraft and Diablo. However, no games of either of those franchises has come out in 8 years, hence the no good games in 8 years.

Also, if we are going with popularity = quality, EA has made/published tons of popular games. Therefore, by your definition, they have made/published tons of quality games, which would make them a good company, right?

Lets break this all down.

Vivendi SA owned VU Games, which owned Blizzard(they sold there soul long ago). Vivendi SA "merged"(bought), Activision and merged VU Games and Activision into one company called Activision Blizzard(owned by Vivendi SA). Its corporate structure has a mix of people from VU and Activision, with Blizzard retain autonomy. After doing so, they ditched 95% of their new IP and a good chunck of their old Ip.

Its going to be a sticky court battle, its going to come down to what actually happened. Blizzard is saying one thing the other side is saying exact opposite.

I'm pretty sure they intended on dropping it and that it would never see the light of day and they'd eat the $15million. Now that i looks like it will make $$$$ they want their $15million AND they don't want it to see the light of day.

They confirmed, they were dropping all games except the ones they listed. Brutal Legends was not on the list they were keeping. All the games they dropped, they let go freely to other publishers. But now that they see a large payday out of it, they are suing.

It originally was supposed to be released around the time of E3, but back in April it was given the new date of October 13. Which at this point, it probably wont be released on October 13. Unless EA is willing to hand over $15million to settle the lawsuit. I dont think EA is will to just hand it over. More than likely a temporary injunction will be put in place while everything gets sorted out, that is unless Activision Blizzards claims are found to be without merit.

Okay, I'm completely done with activision games. Yeah that means Blizzard too (not that it matters much, they went down the shit drain just like bioware)

Sounds reasonable to me...

Yeh, I have to agree with Vivendi on this one.

I don't see a problem with that.

Hahah yeah because mass effect sucked so much and was such a massive failure... Theyre owned by EA so im skeptical about ME2 and 3 but ME1 was a really good game.

I love this guy's games and I don't care who the hell publishes it. EA is the devil but at the same time I love the NHL and Tiger Woods franchises so meh.
