Uh...why is everyone dumping on Blizzard for this? Blizzard is owned by Activision...the only reason the new, merged company is called "Activision/Blizzard" is so Activision can easily cash in on the Blizzard name because of the immense popularity of WOW.

Blizzard keeps to their own...they have nothing to do with this.

This.

Blizzard has nothing to do with this. The only reason their name is part of the company name is because they are synonymous with greatness, so Vivendi wanted to capitalize on it.

I am scratching my head as to what ActBlizz is thinking on this one.

We have this IP, but we can't milk the franchise- let's drop it.

Hmmm, EA picked it up. How could we make ourselves look like a bunch of money grabbing jack asses while helping EA make huge strides in credibility in the gaming industry at the same time? Let's sue over the game we dropped!

I mean seriously, this studio's hard work on what looks to be a very interesting concept is going to get thrown away because ActBlizz can't milk it for enough long terms cash, EA steps in to bring the project back to life- which Double Fine made clear they were going to try and do from the start- and then Activision pulls up with a $15Million dollar suit?

If I'm EA, I push this one hard to the press, take them to court, cause all of the noise about it they can- then pay the cash if that's what it takes to get the game out the door for its' ship date. The positive PR combined with the negative PR to their main competitor? The monetary value of it is a pittance in comparison.

I was really excited for this game. Hope all this hubbub doesn't screw with the quality of the product in the end.

I hope the companies get things worked out. I'd hate for the developer to get screwed. He put out some quality work in the early days of PC gaming. I owned Full Throttle and played through it several times. I really enjoyed that 'game'. It was just point and click type stuff in those years. :) If you've played that game you can see how the overall style of Brutal Legend is similar.

Okay, I'm completely done with activision games. Yeah that means Blizzard too (not that it matters much, they went down the shit drain just like bioware)

Hahah yeah because mass effect sucked so much and was such a massive failure... Theyre owned by EA so im skeptical about ME2 and 3 but ME1 was a really good game.

ME1 was terrible, nearly unplayable and a big step down from KOTOR. Consoles killed Bioware. I wish I could blame EA for that, but I can't.

Hahaha no. I just hate the joke that is popular metal music these days. BS crap like this and Metalocalypse make me embarrassed to be a fan of the genre.

"Nearly unplayable"? That's preposterous.

Metalocalypse isn't a documentary or anything; Brutal Legend isn't supposed to say something serious about the genre. Metal is ripe for humor because it's knowingly over-the-top and ridiculous.

while I think it is lame what Activision is doing. I don't see what is so popular about Brutal Legend. Maybe its the metal theme and Jack Black that turns me off. Jack Black has his moments but can be rather annoying the next.

Tim Schafer, son.

Are you just too retarded to use a controller? ME1 controlled very well outside of the inventory screen.

Tim Schafer, son.

Exactly. I don't give a crap about the metal theme or Jack Black. I'm only interested because of Schafer. He delivers.

Also the worst texture popping of this gen, and the loading. The game was a technical mess, which is not the sort of thing I expect from Bioware.

To be clear, I realize that "nearly unplayable" is a ridiculous exaggeration. And yet, coming from their previous titles that's pretty much what it felt like. Back when Obsidian was making all the sequels to Bioware games, I'd always think "this game is really interesting, but I wish Bioware made it." Then comes Mass Effect, and it's got the slowdown, popping, and overall bad performance of an Obsidian game combined with the typical blander and flatter Bioware plot. Combined with their downward trend in story, it marked the death of the king for me. I'm waiting for reviews and price drops from now on.

As for the inventory system, I thought it was bad until I played Fable 2.

And that's the end of my off-topic rant against Bioware.
