Literally made for the lowest common denominator to be able to use and shoot it, which means it is made bulletproof, since the less it needs to be maintained and repaired, the easier it is for someone to use it. Not very accurate at range, but it was built as a classic assault rifle anyways, and not a mini battle rifle like the M16.
