ACORN LA Staff Counsels Prostitution In "Program For Torture Victims"

In September, L.A. Times columnist James Rainey wrote a column in defense of ACORN in which he uncritically quoted ACORN worker Lavelle Stewart suggesting that she had turned Hannah Giles and James O’Keefe out of her office:

"[V]isits to other ACORN offices have gone almost entirely unmentioned. Lavelle Stewart, a fair-housing coordinator in the group’s Los Angeles office, told me this week that she tried to get the “prostitute,” who claimed she had been beaten by her pimp, to go to a women’s center."

“The fact she was not taking the help I offered her made me think something was not right,” Stewart said. “It raised a red flag.”

Media Matters gloated: "LA Times report further undermines ACORN videographers’ credibility."

Well, today the enterprising investigators released another pair of videos showing exactly what ACORN's Lavelle Stewart really said, and it is about as unpretty a picture as can be imagined.

I guess we now know that if you want to start a child prostitution business in Los Angles using 13 year old Salvadoran girls brought illegally into the United States you just have to call ACORN at (213) 571-2492.

Amazingly, the counseling ACORN delivers for this taxpayer funded service is done in their "Program For Torture Victims" office.

The LA Story, Part IV: Program for Torture Victims
by James O'Keefe
BigGovernment.com

Lavelle Stewart, of ACORN in South Central Los Angeles, tells us she thinks we have to hook up with “someone who’s on that international sex business level,” that “14 and 15 year olds been traveling overseas for years,” that she can do independent research for us, and that she has had meetings with porn magnate Larry Flynt. As for laundering the sex money into my faux political campaign, Lavelle says, “there are ways, people do it all the time. Yeah, there are ways, especially out here in California.”

Yeah, what we need in this forum is a more than two month old bullsheit opinion piece devoid of facts.

Now with extra porn...

Could you possibly be any more pathetic?

Acorn is a non issue. It may work for people devoid of brain matter, but don't expect to convince people here.

I don't expect to have to convince anyone here that child prostitution is bad.

I don't expect to have to convince anyone here that use of taxpayer money for criminal purpose is bad.

I don't expect you to care about either of these issues at all.

We use tax payer money to slaughter people we don't like in other countries;... we've been doing it for 6 years in 2 countries, with no end in sight...

We use tax payer money to give contracts to companies that are completely ok with rape of their workers.

If Acorn did something wrong, they will be criminally prosecuted.. they are no better or worse than any of the corrupt criminals we pay.

Then why have you not bothered to start any thread about these issues yourself?

BTW, we love your use of the collective "we."

You make it sound like killing enemies is a bad thing... doesn't sound to bad to me, regardless if I agree with the wars or not(I do agree with the Afghanistan war.)

Hey we found out about those contractors that did that... guess what there was a big stink about it and legislation was passed to help prevent that in the future and give the women that it has happened to a chance to see the people who committed those terrible crimes against them in court.

Also, just because we do something poorly doesn't mean we should continue doing things poorly in other areas because well we did it there!

Acorn once again exposed as the criminal organization that it is. We need to make certain they don't continue to get government funding and hopefully get wiped out completely.

I think there is every intent to follow up on this story by the people who broke it.

The following is a transcript of a televised discussion yesterday between Andrew Breitbart of BigGovernment.com and Sean Hannity.

Breitbart: There’s a lot of hypocrisy and the dust has settled for ACORN and at the end of the day they’ve recognized that Eric Holder, the Attorney General, has not initiated an investigation into ACORN after we now have seven tapes. There were five initially that came out, ACORN was defunded by the Senate, was defunded by the House, lost it’s link to the Census; while all that damage occurred, Congress didn’t come in to investigate them, obviously not the Attorney General’s office, and they’ve now realized let’s get back into business because they realized that the dust settled and they were not being investigated, it was Hannah, James, and me who were being investigated, that’s why we’ve been forced to offer this latest tape.

Hannity: Are you saying, Andrew, that there are more tapes?

Breitbart: Oh my goodness there are! Not only are there more tapes, it’s not just ACORN. And this message is to Attorney General Holder: I want you to know that we have more tapes, it’s not just ACORN, and we’re going to hold out until the next election cycle, or else if you want to do a clean investigation, we will give you the rest of what we have, we will comply with you, we will give you the documentation we have from countless ACORN whistleblowers who want to come forward but are fearful of this organization and the retribution that they fear that this is a dangerous organization. So if you get into an investigation, we will give you the tapes; if you don’t give us the tapes, we will revisit these tapes come election time.

Hannity: This is a blockbuster, what you’re saying here. You guys have more tapes, you’ll release them before the election, that could have a big impact on the election, obviously…

Excellent. Holder, being the partisan hack tool that he is, would never investigate criminals who supported the dems, so it will be good to have a few things to bring out when Acorn and other criminal organizations like it rear their ugly heads again.

Now, when one says "Republicans believe..." or cites a poll showing "Republicans polled have shown that..." one must recognize we're talking about 20% of the population to begin with. A group that moderates and independents have fled in terror among cries of birthers and deathers, a paranoid fundamentalist neocon core is pretty much all that remains. That helps explain results like this:

Yes. Holder and Obama not touching this with a 10 foot pole is very telling about this administration. ACORN is truly a criminal organization throughout. But you can guarantee Holder isn't going to do anything about it.

I still hold out that the outcry against criminal organizations like ACORN is non-partisan, despite ACORN being a Democrat institution through and through.

I am sure the "Democrats can do no wrong, ever" and the "All's fair in love and politics" group you belong to are a likely exception.

I hope the Justice Department can overcome the political partisanship at the top and act in the national interest. Institutionalized voter fraud would seem to be something they could understand.

So you admit posting on this forum is just your chance at cheap vanity press?

Vanity is your motive, not mine.

Now, how can I offer you a cookie with this new BB system?

So sad, I can't find your cookie. Maybe later.

Another PBLABBER thread.

You and PaTrollUs should start a website instead of parroting others and posting them here.

See, I can watch and read the news, recognize when members of a group do unacceptable things, and can still distinguish between that and thinking the group acted in concert to steal an election from under the eyes of a watchful nation. Of course it's 50% of the gop we're talking about here, so really only 10% of the country, which probably isn't that far off from the number who think the election is stolen every 4 years by someone. But it's still half of an entire political party. Future looks bright for these fellas.

YOU are talking about the GOP, for whatever reason I haven't a clue.

WE are talking about ACORN, persistent and consistent nefariousness exemplified.

YOU and JediYoga and Robor and WHAMPOM can join in or even lead the way in condemning what is being shown over and over again to be a deep seated corruption. Yet, you do not. So you are partisan hacks for all to see.

BTW, somehow in responding here and elsewhere I have achieved the status of Golden Member, apparently a promotion from the exalted state of being a Senior Member. Thanks for the promotion!

How about we all make a deal to demand all of the criminal bastards be thrown in jail?

No we can't do that though. You see, some of those criminal bastards are big supporters of party A and the members of party A don't want to hurt their party so they defend the criminal bastards. On the other side, there are also plenty of criminal bastards in party B and for the same reasons party B defends their guys as well.

Whats the end result the majority of the time? All of the damned criminal bastards get a free ride because of the partisan bullshit that is supported by the rank and file sheeple. I am sure there are plenty of examples to support my argument in this thread alone. It really is sad that we can't at least agree that criminal bastards should be prosecuted but I guess the party comes first eh?

Well according to a poll released today -

"Fifty-two percent of national GOPers said ACORN stole Obama the presidency; only 27% think he won it legitimately. "

http://publicpolicypolling.blogspot.com/2009/11/acorn.html

So yeah, tears of unfathomable sadness...yummy.

WTF does that have to do with them trying to help people import underage sex slaves? I guess I should thank you for helping make my previous point though.
