california Music Teachers test coming up and I can't remember hwo to play a 3 octive g-minor scale on my violin. Anyone of u proteges out there wanna give me a hand? Or direct me to a place where I can see visual of it.

thank you for the two completely useless and unfunny posts... but i'm actually serious and pretty desperate

Start from open G, A, Bb, C, D, Eb, F, G (on D string), A, Bb, C, D, Eb, F, G (on E string), and shift. At least that's how I remember it...

<< thelanx, Eb, not F#. >>

Are you sure? I thought for melodic you take the key signature of the major scale and sharp the sixth and seventh notes?

I don't know if this is too late.
But here's the fingering from the my Carl Flesch scale book.

start from G, play 4th fingers, no open strings, shift to 3rd on A-string, 5th position on E string. Use a 4th finger extension for the high G. Coming back down: 432-321-321......etc Use open strings this time.

"-" means shift.

Hope that helps
