Acer 640U Scanner for $29.99 at OM

Well... I went for it. My OM had (1) left. Sealed in box. Thanks for the heads up guys.
PCWORLD (flame away).... says this little pup had one of the best scanned images of all 10 or so they tested. Good enough for me. Came with some pretty good software too.
Wish I could have gotten the BU version..... then again ... the scan quality of that one is apparhently not as good as the U version (go figure)...

Just got back from Office Max. (I didn't have time to go last week.) They had the Acer 640U but it was listed as $79.99. I had them check the price in the computer and they said that $79.99 was the correct price. So I guess the deal is officially dead.

That is lame because I wanted one

Oh well...scanner deals happen quite often.

I bought this quite some time ago and the rebate through the manufacturer took NINE MONTHS. Nice, reliable scanner though...my only complaint is it's friggin big and takes up alot of desk space.

Yup, I tried today. Price drop is gone, rebate is gone. Selling them for 79.99.

Just to let you guys know. I picked up one today at OM. But to my surprise instead of a rebate, there was a sign that said "All Acer Scanners $29.99". So I got my 620UT for 30 bucks and change without having to wait for a MIR. This scanner kicks ass so far. And for 30 bucks, you can't aruge. =)

Acer is the worst for rebates. Don't expect it for 9 months and 6 phone calls to keep the rebate scum honest. Don't expect it at all if you don't call them and keep all copies of MIR materials.
