i could care less about ratings, as long as the stupid lakers aren't in it

laker hater stay away.....

there isn't a player on either team to root for or against really.....

yeah these games are boring...

you have to root for David Robinson though...I will tune in to see the last part of the last game to see him win...he does more outside of basketball then he does in the game...

Oh wow, I remember to finally catch one of these games, and man, it is rather boring. 16 points total in the first 5 min. 30 sec.....

I haven't watch more than 20 minutes worth of finals BB this year in all 3 games combined. I think they drag on far too long, at this point people are sick of it, and as mentioned earlier it is a well known fact that the real games to watch are in the west with Dal, Sac, SA, and LAL and that whoever wins that battle of 4 teams will take the title, the rest is just formality. Besides it just isn't that fun to watch. That being said did you guys see the NHL finals this year? Now THAT was excitement.

Both NBA and NHL ratings are tanking

NHL ratings on ABC drop 32% from last year

I think the only sport more exciting than basketball to watch is football, that's only cause it's more violent. Baseball has got to be the most boring sport ever. This final could change the way people look at the Eastern Conference, but with so many injuries this years title is a little tainted. There has to be a good rivalry in the finals to get a good rating, like if Lakers played the Celtics ratings would sky rocket. There just isn't a good match up between any team in the West and a team from the East.

lol. I eben told so many people this would happen. The NBA can't say much about it, but i'm sure they were wishing that some more exciting teams had stuck around (ie. Philly vs Dallas, Sac, or LA)

ABC deserves as much for the bad ratings as WHO is in the finals and the state of the NBA tho all three are factors.

ABC has done a poor job of marketing the product, they shouldn't have televised all the earlier rounds exclusively on cable. the fact that they have a sorry tv lineup in general also hurt them, it's not like when NBC used to advertise their playoff games during friends etc.

to blame it only on the NBA is kind of shortsighted.

I have watched the finals and have read a book at the same time. It is so boring to watch. Give me the good old days when Willis Reed, Frazier and Monroe got it on with Chamberlain, West and Goodrich. Exciting games with scoring in the 100 to 120's. <<<<<And by that I mean each team scored that many, not both combined.

The problem with the NBA is that the games are ugly as sin. San Antonio shot 29% from the field and lost by 1! My high school regularly played higher scoring games than these NBA teams, and they play 16 less minutes. You watch one of these games, and the answer is simple: there is no ball movement. Jason Kidd might make 3 or 4 nice passes a game on the break, but most of the time both teams play horrible one on one iso offense. With ten seconds to go in yesterdays game and the Nets up by 1, the best shot they had was Jason Kidd backing in Parker and then taking a 12 foot fallaway with hands in his face? Luckily for them they got the offensive rebound, but my god, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. From now on, it is only college ball for me.

part of the problem is the zone D. w/o the zone D offensive scoring would increase, especially for NJ.

the Zone D was the worst mistake made by the NBA in the last 10 years.

how do they expect teams to shoot good if they have good defense ?

Both teams have good defense. You gotta give them the fact that they both have good defense. For the Nets to still manage a win without the way they're playing ( Running the floor )

i'd say that's pretty damn good. It's more exciting when they do run, but I just love the fact that everyone counts them out and they still manage to make it 2-2.

btw have you recently checked out NBA.coms poll ?

37% ( highest on the poll ) expect nets to win in 7

You seem to have missed the fact that the next two highest were both saying San Antonio would win. 😕

Spurs win in six

31%

Spurs win in seven

20%

Yeah, I work at an ESPN radio affiliate, and they've been talking about how boring the games are. I don't have cable or anything, so I haven't been watching. I'm new to basketball, but I've found that I would much rather watch college basketball. When I watch an NBA game, they just don't seem to have any passion. College players seem to "want" it more, at least from what I've seen.

The Lakers being out of it is probably a big reason for the low ratings. Laker fans tune in to watch them win, Laker haters want to see them lose.

I watched a few quarters over the course of the finals. I didn't really care.

Maybe I'll start caring about whatever team drafts Carmelo Anthony in the draft (I'm a huge SU fan).

I don't understand how some people are saying they will watch college bb but thought this final was boring. This years final was as close to march madness type game as you can get. It wasn't all this run and gun stuff, it was great team play. As far as Duncan, he may lack the emotion you usually see with NBA players, but he is no doubt the most fundmental player the NBA has seen in many years. He deserves the back to back MVP's. He was only two blocks from having a quad-double in the last game. He had the most blocks in the NBA finals ever and that was in 6 games. The previous record was done in 7 games. I would rather watch Duncan play any day over and Iverson or Kobe. I love watching a player that can play the game fundamentally and still be one of the best the league has seen. Don't get me wrong, I also like watching the fun and gun, but you have to admire team play like the Spurs have.

It'll probably be the Denver Nuggets. During his workouts with the Nuggets, he said he's ready to help the Nuggets win some games.
