What's his level?

Accenture level salary bands are roughly something like this 55-70 for analyst, 70-90 for cons, 90-120 for mgr, 120+ senior mgr, exec, etc.

There is no way that he would be at 125. He is looking at around 80 with 2 years of exp.

Ask him? Salaries in NYC are not something you can easily compare to the rest of the country. For reference, I just ran some calculators online and $63,000 in NYC is worth $27,000-38,000 here in Michigan.

I would expect something in the 80-100 range but if he negotiated well, had good experience, and knew his shit $120K ain't outside the realm of possibility.

his title is CRM consultant on linkedin.

see the thing is, his cousin was working for Accenture in management consulting (not sure on the specific field) and apparently the guy was making 125k+ after 3 years or so.

Nah it was fair enough that I was studying with him when he got a phone call with his offer in college and he told me his starting salary. When I got my offer a while later I told him my starting. I'd rather not ask specifics at this point because I don't want to ruin a friendship.. the guy is wildly more successful than I am and I don't want the friendship to change if we both know he's making 50k more than me.

well the thing is that his first job itself was pretty damn good.. it was one of those 3 year rotational leadership development programs. business IT is quite different from regular IT if I'm not mistaken. you don't get many people with fake resumes in that industry because if you don't have people skills you won't survive. I thought he could be at 90-100k+ at this point because management consulting is not at all easy to get into, especially when you're applying for positions in NYC where the competition is pretty ridiculous

Nah he's lived in NJ his whole life and was lucky enough to find his starting job in NYC so he's been commuting. He saves a ton of money living at home with his mom.

If what you guys make change your relationship, you guys are not friends.

CRM is very lucrative right now. I have a small amount of CRM experience on my resume. Each week, recruiters contact me about CRM developer and analyst positions. The devs can easily make up to 120,000 in non-NYC places. Managers can make more.

$85k-150k with a likely average of $116k for a CRM manager with Accenture in NYC.

Lol I padded my last review from glassdoor by 30k just because I didn't like the company I was working for.

From my experience with interviewing with companies in NYC is that they don't take into consideration the high cost of living much. It's what you're currently making plus a percentage increase usually 10-15%.

I think for large companies, they usually have a salary range for a position. If your current salary is below the salary range of the position being offered, you will only get the bottom-end offer.

I second this. I know guys one year out of college with Salesforce.com development experience getting 100k+ job offers.
