Absolutely cannot change HT multiplier with Neo2 board

I have a MSI Neo2 Platinum that I'm trying to overclock. I am unable to change the Hyper-transport ratio at all. As soon as I select it in BIOS, it shows nothing in the values box, and the system locks up tight. Pressing page up or page down, and plus or minus has no effect. I have to shut the system down to try anything.

Now if I use the included Core Center software, it appears to overclock, but I see no mention of the HT ratio, so I don't know whether or not it's being changed. The software will only go as high as FSB 224, and then the system locks up.

So, I've got a system that I can't do what I want to with it. Any ideas? System specs:

A64 3500 90nm
2x512MB Corsair TwinX PC 4400 (using CAS 2.5 4 4 8, also tried 2.5 4 4 10 )
MSI Neo2 Platinum (Bios v1.4)
Antec Trupower 550
BFG 6800 Ultra
W.D. 74GB Raptor SATA drive (in slot 3)
2 IDE DVD/CD-R drives

OK, I think you're selecting it, then trying to use + -? Just highlight the HT setting (DO NOT SELECT IT!!!) and then use plus and minus. Sorry if that's what you were doing, but it wasn't clear in your post.

I agree you only need to have it displayed....then esc, exit and save.....

If you mean you highlight the HTT line in the bios and then tough the + or - and then it immediately goes blankj and freezes, then this is a new one for me....

You realise the issues are only when one OCs or takes it out of spec right???? You run this stock there is no issues or SATA locks, HTT changing issues, etc.... Other then cpu and voltage reporting in the bios this thing is mostly bug free for the average user...

For the rest of us I just read about the issues ahead of time and saved myself any headaches...fact is this board is all alone when it comes to highest reliable overclocks with the A64....BOard of choice for Winchesters hands down....

That did the trick. Who'd have thought that scrolling down and pressing the <enter> key, like every other BIOS option, would cause such problems. I scrolled down to HT, and tried + an - , no effect. Page up and page down keys changed the multiplier. Cool.

Thank you very much.

Another clueless idiot running his mouth, who would have guessed it...

Clueless yeah right, this from a guy who cant even make a proper sig.

Everytime I got a MSI producxt I got burned, 3 times so no more MSI.

their bios are the worse out there & their bios team have no ideal how to write a proper bios, you keep on dreaming for a bios fix I bet you it will never happen.

You clueless people keep on buying MSI products, I will stay away from buggy products made by MSI.

Any board runs fine when you run it at spec,it's when you start overclocking that you start seeing the bugs.

I could'nt bring myself to buy another MSI product after being burned hard 2x... but many say MSI is back!!

Use the plus and minus keys to change the HT. This is a known issue in the BIOS.

try reading the actual post next time.

Funny how this is the exact same thing that everyone else said and it works.

Got the board OC'd a bit. 10x250fsb. 2.5ghz. Stable so far with Folding at Home. I intend to see if it'll do 2.6ghz, and then leave it the heck alone. 🙂 Thanks again, for the help.
