Small talk and conversation is always the best way to start. Then just segway into finding out if she has a boyfriend by assuming that she already does and asking her a question. For instance, if you're talking about art, ask if her boyfriend is into art. She'll say she doesn't have a boyfriend. That's when you whip it out and pounce on her....hehe...well....maybe not that last part.

if you approach it like it's a big deal, you'll weird her out.

my big thing in college was asking a bunch of people in a class to go to the dining hall with me after class (assuming it was a class that ended around lunch or dinner times). just a nice casual way to get to know people 🙂
