Yes you did know the consequences. Your getting pregnant was your own fault and you are responsible. You know that having sex can lead to pregnancy. You know that birth control pills are not 100% effective. You took a chance and unfortunately got pregnant. For you to abort your fetus under these circumstances I would say that you are taking the easy way out and trying to avoid the consequences of your own actions. You shouldn't be allowed to weasel out of responsibility just because you can. Just because you can doesn't make it right.

so how would you justify the killing, cooking, and eating of other people? (in order to put them on par with chicken, cows, pigs, etc.)

Why is any justification necessary? If they were raised to be eaten, there's no problem.

the bolded part would be your justification, then.

I don't think I see your point.

i asked what your justification (reason) would be for eating people, so as to put them on the same level as animals that we kill and eat. you said "if they're raised to be eaten, there's no problem." therefore, that is your reason.

Well no duh, I mean what does that have to do with your belief that people should be forced to raise unwanted children?

i was asking how you rationalized the dehumanization of others. but anyway, if people don't want to raise their children because a) they don't want to take the responsibility or b) they do not feel like they can provide adequately for that child, they should offer that child up for adoption.

me too. they had the choice to be a moron or not, thats the "choice" they had. you make a bad "choice", you suffer the consequences.

so when that fetus grows into a child, then the child should also suffer the consequences that the parent made? ....

why would the child be "suffering" if it was alive vs. dead?

girl has child at 16, child grows up with no father and no mother around. child gets into drugs, drops out of school and in turn procreates at 15-18.

That story is all too common for an unwanted child, that is the type of consequence i'm talking about.

EDIT: and ontop of all that, they put a drag in our socal resources which directly affects me. and that i have an issue with.

part of that is the child's choice, cattlegod. at any rate, that situation is quite unforunate and i agree all too common

Can you not see that foolish thinking like this will contribute to the downfall of our society? There's 3 billion people in the world, they don't all fscking need to have babies!

that's my point. THEY NEED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. don't want kids? DON'T GO AROUND FVCKING EVERYONE!!!!

and btw, there are 6.1 billion the last i checked (and rising). if global population were to stabilize, we'd end up around high 8's low 9's, IIRC (was on some pbs special or something)

That is not going to happen, there is no solution for this to not happen. It is human nature to do this, the only way to solve it is to kill. Killing the fetus solves our problems and takes pressure off our society.

look at terrorists, they won't go away by talking to them, so we kill them.

yes there is a solution. PARENTS. don't go around submitting to celebrity induced BS please, that we "need" to have sex 5x a day

such notions that lots of pleasure, material/wealth, and other superficial things are necessary are simply folly

no partial birth abortions, and for abortions only if the fetuses are used for stem cell research.

Other than that, I don't really care. Its a non-issue to me.

Yep and a Parent that has a child at 17 is going to be really good for that child and teach it the right ways. Probably not. However, if you kill the fetus, then the 17 year old child may go on to have a normal life AND maybe learn from his/her mistake so when the 17 year old child gets to 25-30 is and is ready to have a child, the now grown adult can be a proper parent to the child.

This solves 2 things, not only does it take out the snowball effect of pile of crap people out of our society (i.e. mistake kid leads to that kid having a crap life and it just keeps going on and on) it also gives the opportunity for that person and allows any children he/she has correctly to really achieve something and give something to society.

He said society not the world. First almost a million babies are killed a year. Pair this with the fact that people are having fewer babies in general and you do indeed eventually have an affect on society.

Most of you were not "planned" no matter what your parents tell you. Only 1/5 of abortions are performed on women below the age of 19 (old enough to know how to not get pregnant). Also a substantial number are "repeat offenders".

The answer to this dilemma is easy, finding the answer is hard. When does life begin?

In the world of science no answer to this question has been found. I am not aware of any religious historical manual (bible, quoran etc) that states when life begins. If you can find this text reply here. I'm not counting Pat Robertson telling the world life begins at conception. This is just his opinion. Also quoting a few verses and extrapolating a conclusion is also opinion. "Thou shalt not kill" is very clear.

Commission a scientific study to get an answer to this question. If the answer is life really begins at conception we are forced to extend our laws to the unborn.

Absent this evidence it seems reasonable to use "viable outside the womb" as a test for life.

You might want to see about a refund/exchange, I'm pretty sure those are standard features now.

Just an analogy for the "you made the mistake, now deal with the consequences people". Isn't that sorta like telling someone who has smoked for many many years, then develops lung cancer, to just allow the cancer to kill them, and "deal with the consequences" as opposed to taking a viable alternative in treatment? I'm sure there are many more similar analogies like the above. Just because you make what some will label a mistake, doesn't mean there is only one acceptable method of dealing with that mistake.

Someone also mentioned that saying "the abortion of a fetus doesn't effect me so why should I care", is the same as not caring about the victims of 9/11. I disagree. Nobody is dependent on the fetus, it has developed no emotional ties to anyone. In most instances nobody knows it even exists besides the mother and father, and sometimes just the mother. It has yet to be "alive" a single day on this earth, it merely exists. That is not at all true about any of the 9/11 victims.

Use birth control.

Learn from your parents' mistake.
so you're calling yourself a mistake, wuffsunie?
No, not me personally. My folks wanted me.

That's more directed at the single parents who now have kids becoming single parents as well. ie, one of the larger demographics interested in abortion.
