Should both would-be parents have to give consent for an abortion to be performed, rather than just the mother?

Obviously I'm not thinking of rape cases or examples where the mothers life is in danger.

No, it the fetus is part of the mother so she gets to decide. The sperm donor has no rights... especially if they aren't husband and wife.

Don't like it? Then don't stick your dick in someone you don't know/trust.

If they were married?

Nope, just in general.

But they do have to pay child support... Also I was thinking more along the lines of the problem that arises when the child is aborted by the mother and the father doesn't want that to happen, then it's really unfair on the father.

I guess the "father" should have thought of that before he stuck his cock in the mother without wrapping it first. Her body, her decision.

Once the child is born the state decides matters like child support and what is best for the child. I'm fine with the laws as they are currently written. Again, don't like it? Don't have unprotected sex with women you don't know.

I'm asking about ethically should the father have the right to "vito" an abortion. Given that the alternative is the mother aborting his potential child.

pro-life personally, but I respect the wishes of women. They are the only ones who need a say.

I already answered that question: NO

OK.

When I make an anti-abortion argument, I say that abortion should be illegal, if you don't like it don't have unprotected sex, and people like you call me an idiot, how is your argument any different?

In theory, yes both should have to give consent. Although abortion should simply be illegal.

If married, sure.

But until the male is capable of gestating at least part of the fetus inside his own body, then of course not.
