I always get a kick out of the name.. So, Are you for 86?

I get mixed feelings with abortion. One part of me thinks it's wrong, but I can also understand where it is right, like with rape or incest .. But it will sadden me greatly if all of our sex-crazed population starts going around, having sex even more care-free than they already do, just knowing that you can take a pill, and abort the pregnancy ... :(

Bleh ...

<< it's a viable alternative and gives people a choice. >>

--they could've chosen not to have sex in the first place.

This seems like a reasonable solution to me, I'm not sure how the religious right could be against something like this.

If I'm correct in reading how it works, it prevents the cells from becoming a fetus. If the fertilized egg can't attach to the uterus, isn't it just a fertilized egg and nothing more? I'd hardly consider a fertilized egg to be a person. Once there's a heartbeat and brainwaves then I'd say it is a human, but until then it's just cells.

I agree with RaDragon .. I think the moral implications of this are far greater than we can even imagine ... Most of us already realize where it could be beneficial, as with rape.. but like said in my earlier post, it will be very sad if they let it get out of hand .. Ugh, it just gives me that sinking feeling ..

I agree with Bober, too. This certainly is a much better method of abortion than other ways ...

Str8UpKiller- Your post concerns me ... If that's all everyone is thinking, I think this is going to be a problem ...

Eli,

I don't think people will be popping the pill recklessly. From what i know, its not a comfortable experience.. so no one in their right mind is going to be using it as birth control as you fear it will. Have some faith in your fellow man.. look at europe.

Ahh.. Well, if that's the case, then I agree.. It's probably a good thing, more than a bad..

excerpts from the article on MSNBC:

?There will not be a long list of women who can?t take this because of various conditions, but obviously, it is something women should discuss with their health care providers,? Waldman said.

-- so you see, not everyone will have a choice. :(

then there's the issue of this:

But abortion foes are adamant that the drug will do more harm than good. They are chagrined that President Bill Clinton lifted an import ban imposed during the Bush administration, and accused Clinton of pushing the approval so it will be in place if Bush?s anti-abortion son, George W. Bush, wins the upcoming presidential election.

-- politics is paving this path, not medicine.

in any case, i agree that this may be the only hope for women who have been sexually-assaulted and not to folks who 'made a mistake'.

Abortion is one of the only topics that get me steaming:|

You had the choice not to have sex in the first place, you blew it, now live with it. You could give the baby up for adoption. For all you pro-choice people, what about the baby's choice? Huh? I'm sure you probally didn't think about that. Oh yes and BTW, it is a baby at conception. I love the hypocracy of the pro-coice movement, if that baby is killed in the womb at 4 months it okay...but if 6 months later you were to do the same thing to the child, then you're a cold blooded murderer. So does that mean I can just go kill anyone that is an inconvenience to me because like you said, Pro-Choice right?
And also, the rape excuse, that accounts for a very low percentage of unwanted pregnancies. If rape is the case, then I think it is upto the girl. Otherwise, Pro-Choice=Pro Murder, it's that simple.
Also, I am not catholic, jewish, or any religion for that matter, just someone who beleives that life is precious and should be respected.
